Pakistan vs England Jul-Aug-Sep 2010

Pakistan is now Patheticstan. What a disgrace. They had England 102/7 and have still contrived a way to lose the game, by an innings at that.

Yosuf is gone as well.

Superb day's play for England; absolutely outstanding. Pakistan on the other hand were shocking.

So 14 wickets lost for 120 odd runs from Pakistan :laugh

"they can beat any team on their day" too bad its only once a year

I suppose it is easy to ridicule Pakistan and in terms of cricketing it is fully justified but it such a desperate situation the country is involved in. How much misery can a country take?

what a weird scorecard though.

I mean, yeah, pakistan have been demolished score wise, but to be honest, besides trott and broad, their players haven't scored any worse than englands. it's just that trott and broad didn't play good innings, they played, by comparison to everyone else, utterly brilliant bradman-esque innings.

Yes but someone like Broad does it, and not a single batsman from Pakistan it is a sign of a worry..

The thing is, if this is the lineup set to be the future of Pakistan then I take these loses. But its very likely that the players will start to be chopped as soon as the series ends. Salman Butt is a fine leader but he needs more experienced men especially in the shape of batsmen. Yea players like Umar Akmal and Azhar Ali could represent Pakistan in the next few years, but no team throws inexperienced players in TEST level. You need to have proven something at-least.

Salman Butt
Khuram Mansoor/Imran Farhat/Yasir Hameed
Younis Khan
Azhar Ali
Mohammad Yousef
Fawad Alam/Umar Akmal
Kamran Akmal/Zulqarnain Haider
Mohammad Amir
Umar Gul
Mohammad Asif
Saeed Ajmal

A few changes need to be made. Farhat is just not good enough for the TEST level, and Manzoor may not be much better, but he values his wicket more, and has the fighting spirit you would need. Younis Khan MUST come back. We dont need him in the ODIs and the T20Is but in TEST he is a very vital player for us. Throw in Azhar Ali @ 4, between the 2 Ys and I think with experience around him, he will only get better. Butt is also likely to feel more comfortable with the presence of the two. Alam and UAkmal should be fighting for the one spot. I'd pick Alam over Akmal, simply because Alam has a better TEST match mentality, and looks to have a better temperament IMO. In the battle of the keepers, I still prefer Akmal, because he seems a better batsman than Haider, but of late he has been taking his place for granted. Just when Haider showed him the replacement is available, Akmals game automatically improved. The bowlers pretty much pick themselves up, although w could do with a back-up spinner as well.

There's 10 far better and more deserving players in Pakistan than these pussies.

The only one that can keep his place is Aamir. The rest are ████ backed up by who they know, and not what they know.

I just saw the end of a segment on BBC News about the current match. There was a reporter standing before Lord's and he was referring to match fixing and possible ICC investigation.

No news on cricinfo about it.

I don't understand it really. If a team disappoints it doesn't have to be related with match fixing.

Sounding very suspicious. Although the News of the World isn't the most reputable of sources it does look rather compelling.

Nothing to do with how poorly they've done. To do with no balls. And there was some pretty big no balls by Pakistan.

I can confirm it's very much true.

The ICC need to suspend the ongoing test match, and award the match to England at this point.

Mazhar Majeed is the man accused, who is in fact the manager of many of the players.

He does not represent Shahid Afridi, Fawad Alam, Abdul Razzaq, or Umar Gul (who is a big no baller - but his are usually close) I can confirm.

Specific balls in the match were designated to be no balls, and all of those balls were no balls, by quite some margin.

I've just lost all respect for Amir. He's been absolutely outstanding and he's ruined it all if these accusations are proven true. And on first inspection he definitely looks guilty.

Should they be found guilty they should be banned for at least five years if not permanently. This is a completely abhorrent thing to be happening in the game in this day and age.

Was Kaneria ever found guilty of spot-fixing or not? And whilst I understand match fixing, what is the point in spot-fixing?
