Pakistan vs England Jul-Aug-Sep 2010

I've just lost all respect for Amir. He's been absolutely outstanding and he's ruined it all if these accusations are proven true. And on first inspection he definitely looks guilty.

Should they be found guilty they should be banned for at least five years if not permanently. This is a completely abhorrent thing to be happening in the game in this day and age.

Would be such a shame, if proved to be true that is. Such a talent on the field as well. Will it be abandoned tomorrow?? Amir surely can't come out to bat at 8 after these allegations. Will "rock" cricket as the NOTW claims.

2.1
Mohammad Amir to Cook, 1 no ball, 88.3 mph, no-ball this time from Amir, rare from him, the delivery was pretty decent though, swinging away a fraction. Yikes, on replay that was an enormous no-ball, good half a metre over the line

9.6
Mohammad Asif to Strauss, (no ball) 1 run, 82.7 mph, Strauss picks up a single with a controlled prod towards point

10.2
Wahab Riaz to Strauss, (no ball) 1 run, 85.2 mph, better delivery here and some swing too, slung at a fuller length and Strauss clips it in front of midwicket

18.3
Mohammad Amir to Trott, (no ball) 1 run, 88.5 mph, ooh, that's a good short ball. The surprise option from Amir and Trott got into a tangle as he fended into the leg side but no short leg in place...however, Amir had overstepped by a long way

21.1
Mohammad Asif to Prior, 1 no ball, 81.0 mph, full on off stump, Prior leans forward and defends towards the bowler who had overstepped

31.4
Wahab Riaz to Prior, (no ball) 1 run, 83.3 mph, that's just short of a diving gully! Prior looked to run the ball down to third man but it just rose on him and he couldn't keep the shot down. Well, it's a no-ball so wouldn't have been out anyway

43.2
Wahab Riaz to Trott, 1 no ball, 85.7 mph, slightly better but not much from Wahab, again slung short and down the leg side, but this was at least a fraction closer to Trott

45.6
Wahab Riaz to Broad, (no ball) 1 run, 88.6 mph, loose from Wahab, no ball and short and wide, Broad slapped a cut shot very sweetly to deep point

51.2
Wahab Riaz to Trott, (no ball) 1 run, 86.3 mph, full and fast from Riaz, Trott whips the ball from off stump to deep square leg. And what's more, Riaz has over-stepped yet again. That's actually a tight call from the umpire, but Riaz is pushing the line all the time

88.3
Mohammad Amir to Trott, 1 no ball, 85.0 mph, on a length outside off, good ball from Amir ... but he's over-stepped so he'll have to bowl that one again

112.3
Mohammad Amir to Broad, 1 no ball, 84.1 mph, full on middle and off, Broad forces it up to mid-on...Amir overstepped so the score progresses by one more

131.4
Wahab Riaz to Trott, 1 no ball, 85.3 mph, Wahab has maintained the outside-off-stump line but he oversteps to gift England a run

133.1
Wahab Riaz to Trott, 1 no ball, 89.7 mph, another no ball from Wahab keeps England ticking along as Trott defends

I think the ICC should (assuming all allegations are proven) ban all current Pakistan players and the PCB. Force them to reorganize the entire infrastructure. I mean for Christ's sake, who is not corrupt there!

Not sure that Riaz has been implicated in it as of yet but the Amir ones were blatant.

I get that, but spot-betting is so much more obvious to be prone to fixing then actual match fixing. I mean, if I were to bet ?1000 on it being a no-ball that ball then it's gonna be obvious, and it doesn't look like he placed small amounts on those 'spots.'

Conveniently spread out through the innings. Oh, how I hope it's false allegations. Cricket doesn't need this.

Oh, I think I just got it, actually I might not have done. Do they bet on the spots with this guy? or with betting agencies?

Who are the bookmakers who do these spot bets? Blackmarket gambling?

I'm pretty sure that Amir was bowling them purposely. Every no ball was so big that they even noted how big they were on Cricinfo commentary.

Ill pan out a hypothetical for you Ollie.

Live betting is updated each over, so the bookie checks and sees what the count is for "no balls in the next over". Say its "2"

He will bet big on "over 2" and then somehow communicate to the bowler on the field to bowl 3 no balls the next over.

Spot bets are legal, bet365 offers tons of them. They are actually quite fun, if you feel someone is batting well then bet on them to get X amount of runs etc.

Mark added 0 Minutes and 42 Seconds later...

And watch the PCB get the ICC to call it a draw :laugh

As fun as they are perhaps they should stop? As long as spot bets are there people will try and get players to do certain things.
