Pakistan vs New Zealand @ UAE 2009

Still have no idea why they stuck with Oram. He's obviously not in form and he's just returned from injury. I certainly hope he performs in this match and repays the faith put in him.

Agreed. He needs to go home and find some form in domestic cricket IMO.

Huh, I seriously thought that McCullum was going to be the first wicket to fall.

Afridi hasn't done that well with the ball which means he's gonna hit few biggies when he comes out to bat.

Good knock by Mccullum though, helping his team get to a good total.

khalek added 5 Minutes and 52 Seconds later...

NZ really looking good 300 atm with Mills and Southee still to come, Mccullum might even get to 150.

should be able to hammer it up to 300, in the next game maybe Taylor could go down to 5 or 6 so he can come in as a finisher and hit himself into form.

Good to see McCullum find his form.
Poor chap has struggled all season.
Though it hurt our chances. Need a solid start from the openers.

I didn't watch the beginning of pakistans innings in the 1st game, (I watched youtube highlights and found watching an ODI half century scored at a SR of 60 quite missable) but one of the things I noticed was people saying that despite doing well to stay in, Pakistans top order didn't rotate the strike very well.

looks like that's still a problem. 2 boundaries off 20 balls is fine, but only 2 singles is gash.

yea Younis is just eating up deliveries instead of rotating the strike. Vettori is bowling well but they cant wait for him to finish his 10 overs, don't need to take the guy for 15 and over just rotate the strike and get singles.
Maybe Pakistan is hoping for their lower order to give them the kind of effort they got in the 1st ODI but that can easily backfire.

and as I type this Younis is out.
