Pakistan's Tour of South Africa - Feb-March 2012/13

^You are dropping Azhar Ali? He was our highest run getter in 2012.Don't judge him on his ODI performances. He's not a natural stroke maker but quite suitable for test cricket

Major no-no to drop Ali. Cant even believe you thought of it. I think Ali and Shafiq deserve their place, the latter has been better in TESTs than in ODIs. Sohail should be the backup middle order batsman.

South African pitches are paradise for fast bowlers and Pakistan pick only four fast bowlers in their squad:rolleyes that might effect them. and inclusion of Mohammad Irfan in Test squad very surprising.look at his fitness level.but all the best to Irfan and Pakistan team:thumbs

Watched Ehsan Adil yesterday,Didn't seem any special although it's harsh to judge him on this slow track of National Stadium. His Inswing is nice and doesn't bowl too much loose deliveries.

Lets not forget, he is 19 years old. And not very bowler will be Mohammed Aamer

Yeah but Misbah referred him and he has been preferred over Riaz for SA tour where we'll need a strong pace attack. That's why i was expecting more from him.As i said before,it's harsh to judge him on this slow, low track

He did not look too quick either. May be 135 KPH at max. He will not get anywhere with that pace and will not be a permanent feature in Pakistan team. He is young though and could still surprise us with what he has got in SA.

Don't Pakistan still have a rule under 140kph for a strike bowler will not be considered?

The only slower bowlers who made it in our team was Muhammad Asif. He could hardly bowl over 135 and hovered around 125-130 KPH mark but boy was he a magician with the ball. In ODIs Aaqib Javed was a quickish medium pacer who played a lot of limited overs cricket for us during the 90s.

Shabbir Ahmed played for us for quite a while. Was he 140kmh before he changed his action? Because i remember he wasnt much quick when he made his comeback

We have always had so many talented Bowlers in the domestic circuit. But due to no backing from top ex cricketer/politicians, they do not get to play for Pakistan.
Even todays the likes of Sadaf Hussain, M.Talha, Zia ul Haq could be the next big thing if given proper chances. (Instead Samis, Tanvirs, Cheemas & Wahabs gets picked lol. These guys can easily make it to Indian All time bowlers)

Yeah Right :P Sadaf Hussain is really a very good bowler. He is surely one for the future.Have seen Zia ul Haq,he is pretty good as,well.
