Pakistan's Tour of South Africa - Feb-March 2012/13

Pakistan doesn't have a chance unless they get SA out for 220 or less. That would make Pakistan to get 400+ runs in under 3 days.

This is just not because pak batted poor, its the class of the attack they are facing.... Is SA's attack is the best out of the last two decades....Steyn/Philander/Morkel

You forget to include kallis...dont think any team has a fourth seamer who consitently bowls at 135kph...swings it..bounces it and takes wickets.

Well I did say yesterday that if Pakistan got South Africa out for 200 odd, imagine the SAfrican bowling.

however, congrats to Steyn for his 6-8. He has bowled really well over the last year or so, but has been put to the side thanks to Philander's bowling.

Any particular reason why SA didn't make Pakistan bat again?? They'd only been fielding for 29.1 overs, seems like an ideal time to crush an opponent who's already down.

I guess Smith wanted his batsmen to get as much practice against Pakistan's bowling attack as they can.

Wow, well why everyone always knew the chances of PAK challenging in this series would come down to how their batting coped, since they had the bowling to test the proteas batsman.

But damn i certainly didn't expect 49 all out. Steyn is such an all-time great fast-bowler now, what a legend he is!. However i think pakistan low score, following similar low scores around the world in the last 2 years, speaks to global problem of batsmen not being good vs quality pace in testing conditions.

Disappointed that Ifran isn't playing in this test, but i guess the concerns of him lasting a test match are real. PAK fans how could Wahab Riaz is not in the test squad?

Yeah, Wahab has a decent record and rarely performs badly, I don't know why they seem so reluctant to pick him, I don't know what he's done wrong.
He's a fit guy who bowls his heart out as well and is a proven wicket taker.
I know he struggles to swing the ball into the right hander, but swing into the right hander is not everything...it's not exactly helping Rahat at the moment.

This can only happen in Pakistan cricket that a bowler (Rahat) who was not part of actual plans were allowed to play 1st test where as Ehsan Adil was sidelined for no reason.
Rahat is just an ok bowler he needs to be tested in low profile matches and ODIs so that he can learn a little about international cricket before throwing him into such a big match.
Wahab is continuously sidelined for no reason aswell may be he do not have anyone in PCB to support him.
There is no chance for Pakistan until SA play poorly.

Possibly his non/involvement with spot fixing scandal?

But yea I agree Rahat has no business at the TEST team yet. I dont know why we dont plan on properly integrating bowlers into the set up.

Lowest Test innings totals:

New Zealand 26
South Africa 30
South Africa 30
South Africa 35
South Africa 36

:p

That was in what year? When South Africa best Batsman was their best bowler and he avg 30. That was early in the 1900 South Africa wasn't even a republic even then Haha

----------

Pakistan got to knock off those runs before the new ball comes otherwise its game over.

Cheers
