Patch #2 Must Fixes

Didn't read all the pages but here's a few I would like to point out:

1) Yesterday while playing online, I was given caught-out a couple of times when I hit a ground shot by the middle of the bat.

2) In the same game, I appealed for an edge-to-wicket keeper, I challenged it, and the replay clearly showed the edge and the catch, but the appeal was considered for a leg-before-wicket out and was thus not given.

3) Online lag is quite severe and that is causing some bowled outs.

4) For some reason 99% of catches are being dropped.

5) The replays when playing online are always showing the after-the-fact clip. i.e. if you want to see if you were really run-out, watching the replay shows everything after the hit and way after the bails have been taken off.

6) Players are abusing the change-field option way too much and not giving the batsman a chance to view it. A aerial field position graph is absolutely necessary.

7) Camera angles after hitting the shot absolutely need to be fixed and they should maintain the frame of reference with respect to the camera I have set. I play in the broadcast mode, and I'd expect the camera to not show me behind the stumps view of the shot. Meaning, looking at the batsman in broadcast camera who is a right handed batsman, one could have hit a shot to the leg side (right hand side of your TV), but suddenly now the camera switches to behind the stumps and obviously pans to the left to follow the ball, but making me think for a second what's going on and where exactly did I hit the shot. It's a deal breaker and totally spoils the realism.

Fingers crossed for a successful patch 2 and 3 in the future.

Online play :Wired or wireless??

the run out/stumped bug is just getting on my nerves, get hit and get out. I hope its fixed in patch 2 and hopefully co-op mode is added.

So i been playing the game for a few weeks now and here is what i think we need-

1) Fielding - Both field setting by A1 and thier miracle catching-
2) Run Outs- Batsmen getting run out funnily. Even after grouding bats people are getting run out.

3) Shot- grounded shots are still going air borne. Maybe make a specific button for grounded shot and keep R2 for lofts.
4) A1 keeps bowling on leg and middle a lot.
5) There has to be a little indiction marker as to where A1 is going to bowl. Maybe keep a setting for marker on and off.

3) - They have the left trigger for airborne shots and right for ground shots? May be it is not working as intended. Not pressing any trigger should generate a ground shot if possible depending on the ball.

Then I think we should all wait for Patch#2...:)

(without getting our hopes too high) true...

Couple of other things that have been bugging me:

1. the AI very rarely selects slips even in 4 day matches...wtf?? suddenly the off and on side is packed whilst the bowler RARELY bowls anything wide. Is that realistic? :noway
2. whats with bowlers constantly bowling around the wicket?
3. I faced a RH bowler bowling around the wicket at either leg/middle stump with about 5 fielders on the on side. I like the 'trap' they've set but how realistic is this? and almost no matter what I do, I'll be caught ie. driving/blocking.

Mid-on takes too many catches

Started a new test match last night, bowling to the AI on legend.

Sure enough, AI bat well and are at one stage 1/115. Then the inevitable middle order collapse happens and they slump to 6/200. Not a huge collapse - but this is typical. At the moment the AI are on 6/230. Again the inevitable is occurring - the lower order are digging in.

Alex Doolan has taken 5 catches at mid-on.

Sure, as a cricket fan you might look at this and reason "it can happen". Just like KKR losing 6/2 in 8 balls can happen.

But this pattern occurs way, way to frequently to just be a coincidence. I feel something needs to be tinkered. The game is close to having strong AI. Its just the middle order batting AI that needs to be fixed. Make them play more conservatively when they get to the wicket, until they build their confidence.

The "go to" dismissal for the AI is the hoick across the line to full balls outside off and spooning a simple catch to mid-on. This happens way, way too much. Nicks to 2nd and 3rd slip I could reason with. But this I cant.

Again, I think this is just a simple fix. Maybe re-coding the AI to play balls outside off stump through the off-side more, or to leave them alone?

Cheers

the ground shots going in the air are a matter of timing, if you play early the bat, further along it's trajectory is now facing slightly up, so when the ball hits it (which is also travelling upwards due to bouncing first) the ball is deflected up. however I do think the effect is too severe, the amount of mid on/off catches seems excessive.

one thing I'd definitely like to see is the AI in career mode playing for singles more for two reasons, first, it's realistic, too often I watch my partner club the ball through the air for 4s over and over again even when we're batting for a draw. in career bowler mode most of the runs I lose are hoiks over mid on, not singles to deep fielders.

the reason though this should be changed is gameplay. usually when I'm batting my partner faces way more balls than I do, this is because I take singles, putting him on strike. quite often you come in, play a couple of shots and end up watching my partner either block or bludgeon for 4 entire overs. gameplay wise the game should be trying to put the player on strike a bit more often.

IMO top 3 fixes should be
1. Runout issues and related stuff
2. Superhuman fielders
3. Poor difficulty settings as its easy to ball on vertan and hard to bat on pro.
4. Give us something to judge the ball , we have many things in mind when the bowler balls like front or back foot, off or on side, good or shortpitch etc.. thats why batting is so hard.
On the other hand I can confirm this: batting input sometimes doesn't respond if you adjust you feet before the ball. Happened to me thrice today. This game will be on top notch with just these tweaks.

Would like to see a small variation on bowling speeds. As the same pre set speeds are annoying slightly. Far too consistant and unrealistic

I just played an odi on vertan difficulty, bowled india on 140 in 32 overs and got out on 18 in 4 overs .

Very good point, I forgot this one. Pretty big deal since I've been bowled this way before.

Ya this sucks mate I'm stuck to pro t20 casual for always because of too many bugs, I hope patch 2 fixes a lot.
ps: the third umpire replay is clanky and very fast too.
