Yes it does

I d/l get best a month ago And just checked and all 18 county teams use just first class roster for all formats of the game

I changed this so T20 matches uses the T20 roster etc & it works. At least get different line ups per format now :thumbs

Awesome

I am happy to have criticism, patently, obviously have encouraged it and reacted to it and made fixes because of it, and you can say whatever you like but I always front up for it and take it on the chin. So, not an over-reaction at all, just a choice to ignore someone that is little more than nuisance value.

Online is fine for fixed line, there are issues for wireless which we know about and have resolved for patch#2.

BTW Not many returns at all.

Imminently.

If it is submitted in the coming days, how many weeks will it be before Microsoft and Sony get their s... have the patches up would you think?

Are we close to hearing a full change list?

Timing is to be close to the Digital release of the console version, 6th June or thereabouts.

Is the digital release confirmed to be the 6th of June yet? I'm planning on getting the steam version, and probably gifting another as well. Will be a bit odd to buy the same game 3 times though.

Edit: Okay, so the PC version is scheduled for the 26th of June, seems quite a while still.

NB - need to start new career once changed all teams but worth it IMO

I was wondering why the career teams weren't picking up the one day and T20 line-ups - looks like the game doesn't do it automatically.

I know we can adjust certain things pre-career such as:
- uniforms
- home stadiums

But its not consistent. I wish we could change other things pre-career like:

- Start and finish times of matches (sick of finishing one day games in day light. It should become dark around the 25th over in OD day nighters. FC games finish way too early too.)
- Use customised matches.

Then in career I wish we could change:
- Line-ups match to match
- Player appearance

Things I wish would change:
- Form
- Fitness
- Retirements
- Rookie generation
- Players moving club to club

So what you're saying is hurry up you're taking too long to fix the game but also take your time, don't release it until it's ready.... cool.

We got a patch out in record time, further patches will take a lot of time - do you have examples of any other Console games with multiple patches within a month?

We will have more frequent updates on Steam and then roll those updates into bigger patches for Console.

BTW I haven't made you do anything, you could actually wait until patch#2, or even wait for patch#3.

No I dont have any examples of any other console games with mutiple patches within a month - Perhaps because the majority of other developers have a functional playtest/QC department.

On that note "multiple patches in a month" is not exactly something to be proud of or used as a counter argument to play as a positive. Its more like the reflection of a development team in the process of averting a crisis. If the game was released without fundamental issues pertaining to cricket then "multiple patches in a month" would not be necessary.

Is the game in its current state performing as promised? No. So yes we gave been made to wait.

I raised some very valid points. if the criticism cant be handled then ignore it. (It wasnt even directed at anybody). Instead the decision was made to reply in a manner to incite a sprouting match.

I personally would rather not get into one. But if you simply can not help yourself go ahead. A sprouting match in this forum may prove to more be more fun than playing DBC14 in its current form.

Why can't you be just thankful to someone trying to make a decent cricket game? Criticize them when there are other competitive players in the cricket gaming market, for now just let them do their thing. Take big ant studios out of picture and think what we have in cricket gaming.

There are issues with this game, but I've seen far bigger studios with far bigger problems than this one release, and I've seen them do far less to fix it too. They're doing fine, and at this rate we'll go from a game that is good at it's primary goal (a single player cricket game) to being great across the board by at least it's second iteration, if not by this second patch (which would be remarkable to say the least).

There are most certainly issues, and some that I have been very vocal of, but it remains that this is still the best cricket game yet, and if this patch improves the areas that require it, fix a few nagging bugs (particularly some to do with multiplayer options) then it will be in amazing condition.

I thoroughly enjoy playing the game but I do understand some of the criticism.
I don't believe that the play testers did a great job and I don't understand the inactivity between what was cited as a finished product and the release date. I believe this period was at least six months, roughly the same period of time between release and the first major patch.
Various issues must have been noticed and should have been acted upon before the game was released.
The game wasn't cheap to buy and purchasers should have the right to voice their opinions, but this should be done in a constructive and polite manner.

That would be the key right there.

pfft... Sprouting match... some people give themselves way too much credit.

Look , I have also scratched my head as to how some of the more obvious stuff got passed QC , but thats now water under the bridge , and something I believe BA would have learned from.

Other Studios , put out Beta versions of their games , specifically with the goal of ironing out all the major bugs pre-release. BA could keep this in mind for the next iteration. Only Gamers can fully test a product in all its facets.

...crickets?

Gee wizz - this statement is getting tossed around like a Frisbee isn't it...how long is a piece of string?

No disrespect intended but IMO Games like SWC 99, Cricket 97 ATE, International Cricket Captain are all superior cricket games in the context of the period when they were made, and the style of game (interactive v management sim).

If you put peak Bradman in the same team as peak Ponting, Lara, Sangakarra, Kallis and Tendulkar he wouldn't be in the same league technically, but in the context of his era he was miles ahead, and that is why he is regarded as the best ever.

Why shouldn't the same apply for cricket games? SWC 99 was absolutely miles ahead of its time, and that's why its the best ever I think. There are numerous elements in SWC 99 that don't even exist now in modern games (classic matches, huge amount of stadiums, classic commentary, crowd sounds dependent on venue played, beach cricket!). IMO Bradman 14 falls well below average in quality expected of a game retailing at $99 in the year 2014. I don't see how this can be argued. Sure there might be a few outliers that you can refer to as case in point - some games that are just awful, but the quality of the DBC14 product upon release is below average - its as simple as that. I'm sorry if I offend.

Imagine if the developers could of supported SWC 99 and Cricket 97 ATE post release???

On another note :

I`ve downloaded several "extra" umpires , and when setting up online matches , I see them in the list of Umpires that can be selected , but whoever I select in the pre-match settings , I get the same umpire face inside the game. Are they disabled for online or is this a game wide glitch ?

Anyone else noticed this in online mode ?
