PC Games

Remember the key rules of the steam sales lads.

Only buy it if it's a daily deal or a flash sale! Otherwise stand fast you salty dogs!

I'm quickly building up a ridiculous backlog of games because of Steam Sales.

Haha yeah me too :p Still, I generally only pick up things I genuinely want, or rather want to support the developer. So I don't feel my money is ever wasted :p

So am I - there are quite a few that I bought and have barely touched. Same with GoG - I liked the look of one or two, bought them but I will probably never play them again. So it's twice as annoying that shortly after that, Dead Island GoTY has shown up in a Flash Sale, for just under ?7. I can still buy it obviously, but I could've put the money I spent on those older games towards that instead.

So yeah, it pays to really think before buying - the aforementioned backlog is the one big negative of Steam Sales.

And Skyrim has only come down to just over ?20 - which is still fairly expensive for a sale.

Damn it - Dead Island has gone to ?9.99 - how long do these 'Flash Sales' usually last for?

if anybody notices civ 5 going to a silly price could you pm me or let me know please?

part of me hopes it doesn't though what with uni...

You would've got it free if you preordered Xcom Enemy Unknown - assuming you like that sort of game of course. :)

i probably would like it but wasn't interested. didn't have my laptop at the time and it's mainly a poker laptop so trying to minimise the amount of games i platy on it - haven't even bought the new fm :eek::eek:

Bought Sleeping Dogs and Max Payne 3

Max Payne was quite expensive still (compared to the US Steam store price) so I just got it off Amazon for the US price

Contemplating buying the Portal games but my mom isn't letting me. The reason? I have a series of exams three months from now, and therefore I shouldn't buy them to play later even if there's a sale.

I'm facing the same situation. Are you in 12th just like me?

Yeah.

I ain't bothered too much though, just annoyed. Steam has regular sales periods throughout the year, and I probably won't play the games now, so nevermind.

Steam sales are the death of me.

I've definitely spent too much money on these damn sales, but on the flip side of that, anything I've spent more than ?5 on is something that I've been tracking for a long time; I've just bought Skyrim for ?18. :) The last deep RPG I played was indeed Oblivion, so I'm looking forwards to getting stuck into a new one. :)
