FOOTBALL PES 2010-- Discussion Thread

A lot better. Much smoother gameplay, improved graphics and the whole game just feels "nicer".

So its better than Fifa then? I cant decide which one to buy and Im not buying both of them!

I reckon it totally depends on what fan you are. I reckon both games are pretty even, so get fifa if your a Fifa fan or get PES if your a PES fan.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Ok, can I just ask, is the final packaged game better, in your opinion ofcourse, than the demo and why. This will pretty much determine whether it travels back to Uni with me on Saturday :p

For me, it is better:

The Shoot button now clears danger properly (rather than having to charge up the lob button).

Heading is even better than the demo (I've had some epic aerial battles in this game).

Players' sprinting seems a bit faster (in the demo, it looked like they were running in mud to me).

Throughballs are fixed.

Keepers seem a lot better.

and as Sureshot said, the whole game just feels a lot 'nicer'.

Note, all this is based on the PC version. MasterBlaster Productions will not be held responsible if your experience on Xbox 360 differs. :) :D

This is just like playing football manager, but you get to control the team. The tweaks you can make to your tactics, so many possibilites.

Pes has really come on this year. It really feels like a completely different game to pes 2009. I find it impossible to believe that Fifa NG is better than pes 2010. This is perfection.

Update on my master league.

I started again, created Bristol Rovers. Using the default players on a master league top player. Got to the jauary transfer windows, signed a few prospects.

I want to make sure i avoid promotion if possible, so i might have to sim a few games. I want to replace most of the default squad bar Bauman and Guiterez before i hit the premier league.

I've started in D1 (didn't want to, just happened :D), I've won 1 match in 12. It's hard, as is the transfer side. Which I don't like tbh, it's too faffy, I don't like my scouts setting up the deals, I want to do that. Only negative of the game I've found so far.

Well having played it since wednesday non stop im finally getting the hang of things. I simmed my last few games of last season to avoid going up in third position.

In the summer i brought in several new players using the scout search by future potential. I now have a decent first x11, apart from my goalie who has potential but is poor currently overall rating of 61.

When you start with your own created club, you start with the lowest rep, and the least amount of money.

Luckily i got a decent sponsor early doors, who gave me 1.1 million and a ?20,000 win bonus for home games.

The key to signing players is to first of all create a few saves as negotiations start. That way if you don't sign any players you can roll back to a save and start again.

Until you get a better rep, and abetter scout, signing well known players is almost impossible. At the very start you should search by future potential as advised by your scout. Now try and sign any transfer listed players from this list (the scout future potential list, not the advanced search transfer list). If you're lucky a few will join you. If you don't get to sign anyone bump your scout uo to level 2 and hold off till january.

At the jan tranfer window do the same, search for future potential but this time sign players that have put their renewal talks on hold. These players will almost always sign for you, and you can get some real gems. They just need a while to progress.

At the start of the game you have several decent youth players. The pick of the bunch is Palmieri or something. He goes onto become a very good defender. After you promote him let him settle into the team for a few months, once his rating hits 64, get him in the team and play him from there on in. He's currently rated at 67 on my game and his stats are going up nicely.

Another decent youth player for an AMF is Oscar. He's slow, but i have scored a lot of free kick goals with him, hes also good in the air, in terms of height at least. His short passing is also quick, which helps with through balls to the strikers.

Keep Guiterez at the start. Play him in a SS position, and his rating increases by a few points. Hes only 23 at the moment and his overall rating is already at 70. He is dominant in the air, so play him alongside a quick striker. Get crosses into the box and this guy will score.

Have also nearly got my tactics spot on. So many variables to play with but i think im almost there.

Got a 4-4-2 featuring a defensive CMF and a attacking AMF. My SS is balanced and my CF attacking. Full back balanced, center backs and keeper defensive.

I then have a 4-4-2 with lots of player support, width, pressing, defensive line pushed up. The whole team apart from 1xCB - 1xDMF on attacking.

Then i have a see out the game tactic which is the complete opposite of the 4-4-2 above.

Going well, loving it.

There are Championship mods being worked on right now - when complete, you'll be able to fill 'other teams B' with them, and use that as ML's Div 2. Football outside of the top flight in PES, at last!

Started a ML with Wolves, first game, took the lead after a break just 2 minutes in. Held on until 44 minutes when Torres rounded the keeper to equalize. After the break, I completely fell apart, and Liverpool took advantage, trashing me 7-1.

Back to the drawing board.

Loving it though, got the kits patch already, the PES community remains awesome.
