Post your questions about the game here!

So without a Windows computer, I will be unable to get full functionality out of Cricket Academy? That's a shame, but hopefully I'll still be able to do enough without it.

It's pretty easy to run Windows on Mac. Lot of folks do it and google or youtube it to learn how to do it.

All that confirms is that both you and Chief aren't being kept in the loop :p

(I prefer to think Chief doesn't know he is late than the alternative....)

Ross, let's say that by some miracle Ashes Cricket is able to meet its release deadline (June 21st), will you be able to trump them?

Bless our brains for coming up with all these different ways to ask one question to achieve the same thing....find out when the game is coming out.

You seem to be still very convinced that Ashes 2013 won't be appearing on June 21st or am I reading that wrong?

Very convinced. The question is not if the game has been approved, has it even been submitted? I believe not.

I have a vested interest, of course, in knowing the real date. People here have an interest as they have been induced to put their money down on pre-orders based on a date.

hi, big ant when will the table top cricket be released? what about the full game?

TableTop Cricket is set for release after the full cricket game - TableTop is gaining great benefit from coming in second, some features have been transferable.

I can let you know that TableTop Cricket allows for edited players and players of different heights - you can create "Little Masters" of 5'5" that will appear to be different in height to a created "Freddie" of 6'4" :p

My parrot picked out the piece of paper that said 4th of july...

No way they're making the 4th of July - your parrot is on non-performance enhancing drugs :yes

Ross, that's one of the cheekiest avatars I've ever seen :lol

I love a bit of stirring in avatars n' signatures... ;)

P.P.S. looking at your avatar...you are quite competitive...aren't you? And it is awesome.

This is probably the sweetest news I have heard for a long time, thank you! My Ross - Big Ant admiration mountain just grew bigger :)

Not sure if this was posted here...but someone asked ross on bigant forum when can fans have a "look" on the game and ross said

After the 21st June definitely but maybe before 505 Ashes Cricket 2013 :p

I am not sure of ross's definition of "look" ... It can be either trailer or screenshots

Yes, the second mover advantage is strong. Announced date or not, something called Ashes Cricket needs to come out within a fairly small window - if you don't announce a name and date until the last moment then of course you can avoid 'delays' because it's all hidden.

It's a tough decision... rush out an unfinished/unpolished game or miss the Ashes... glad it's not my call!

Only this year that window isn't as small with two back to back Ashes series.

I'm styling myself on the great KP from the "Howzat" series, we're the underdog battling the establishment :p

Ross, there's one thing which worries me about Big Ant's gameplay. Maybe I am being nervous for no reason or it's me being cautious (read pessimistic) after being burnt one too many times with earlier cricket games. Let me elaborate...

We have seen plenty of great feedback from CA Beta users, especially folks at PC (Planetcricket), which has resulted in CA getting improved leaps and bounds in a few short weeks. To me it's clear the value this "beta" brought to the table along with raising awareness about the game.

But my fear is the core gameplay didn't go through the same cycle and did not gain from the valuable feedback it could have if there had been a closed beta. I understand that a few club and first class cricketers did indeed play the game which could very well double as closed beta but professional cricketers do not neccessarily mean they are harcore cricket gamers. I have full faith in you and your team, especially after what I've heard about the innovative bowling and batting mechanisms you have implemented in the game. But it does help to get a fresh perspective and sometimes fresh set of eyes looking in can point out a few glaring game-breakers which could have been hiding in plain sight.

That's why I would have really loved the Big Ant game to have gone through a small closed beta cycle akin to what CA editor is going through. The major difference being the timelines for gameplay beta could have been a bit short (1 week?) and only a few select folks would be privy to the beta (PC members in Melbourne?). Surely these folks could have provided valuable feedback based on playing multiple cricket games over the years (sort of a sanity check).

I hope my fears are unfounded and you have thought through the pitfalls I mentioned. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the success of the game but I would really appreciate it if you can provide some insight into how you have managed to glean inputs from other sources regarding improvement in gameplay and were able to incorporate the same.
