Post your questions about the game here!

We'll just have to disagree on that.

My belief is that it has been known for some time that it will be late and that the non-disclosure is not reasonable as people are putting money down.

If I was to release my date then stores would take money for pre-orders, indeed stores here that have seen our game have asked that be allowed to take pre-orders but I have declined.

Devils advocate, but the "been known for some time" element of the release date not being accurate has only been known to you. Chief, for whatever reason, isn't aware of any delay nor have we seen any other public mention of a delay from anyone else, other than the competition.

I mean, we can put two and two together and look at the supporting material (no screens, videos etc) and come to an assumption, but it's just that until we hear anything official. Further to that, I'd MUCH rather the game be delayed and be really good, then rushed, unfinished just to upset everyone and kill a brand again after years of nothing in the cricket game world. Ideally, we're rooting for everyone to succeed here, as fans.

I don't think I'm in the minority here at PC either.

I don't see the problem in that, to be honest. People are going to pay for the game either way. Taking pre-orders, whether it's delayed or not, doesn't really matter because (logically) the people making pre-orders are your tier-one fanbase, ie, the PlanetCricket lot. You're going to get our money either way...

Which is fair enough, I just don't think the jabs at the other guys for potentially missing a date are [fair] when you haven't got a date announced for this game.

I think that's a fair assessment. Speaking for myself, I'm always one to put my money where my mouth is, so to speak. I'm happy to eat humble pie when I get it wrong, or other people disagree because ultimately I learn something from the experience. For mine, you're better to set the pace, set the example... rather than hide in the shadows and wait for someone to fall over, before kicking them when they're down.

I mean, nobody wants to "Sim City" their Cricket game here, least of all any of the fans. Two successful games will breed healthy innovation and competition. We're in a better place if we get that. Two really good cricket games.

Take you time and release a game that isn't bug ridden like a lot of others who push their games out the door - "I'm looking at you Aliens Colonial Marines"...

Just do what you need to do and we will wait... :cheers

I figure just asking when the game will really release so I can schedule mine just isn't going to work.... it doesn't work for anyone here to ask me or him for screenshots :p

The "word" in Melbourne - it's a very small industry - is that Trickstar are yet to put forward a submission candidate. They cannot make retail for the 21st June if that is true.

In answer to Biggs above, I am assuming the Chief is being mislead otherwise I am being mislead (maybe on purpose, who knows) and therefore deserve all the wrath due! I dish it and fully expect to take it - wont be the first nor last time - I like living on the edge!

The bottom line is that you're going to get two games at some time this year from two guys who care about what they produce and seriously want to compete, it can only be a good thing.

Well don't we all like to live in a pretty little world where we expect two competing companies releasing similar games that they have invested millions in, get along reall well together?!! I think some of us are forgetting Ross has a business to run, a game to sell and a competing company to beat. So of course he is going to take shots at it whether we believe it to be justified or not. This is a title that will have to directly compete with another game, so a little mud throwing is understanable and doesn't seem like something we should get involved in:p

I cannot for the life of me imagine that Jamie doesnt know this as he is the producer of the game......so either it is not true or Jamie knows it not to be true but is deciding to tell us otherwise. He has categorically stated that the game will release on the 21st of June. If it is true and he doesnt know.......that is impossible surely? What kind of company structure is that.....it is like the director of a film not telling the producer that they havent actually shot any footage yet but he is in the belief that the film is about to open Cannes....

...We're going to be just fine, you and I *hugs*

Dutch, I think you're being a bit black and white. There's also the (more logical, imo) third option that they're running behind, and are fully wanting to hit the announced date but it's looking less likely. I mean, he's already had the game rated as he's tweeted the submission, so I think they have already submitted SOMETHING, unless that tweet was a ruse?

@ross
Now I wouldn't expect an answer to this, but it seems to me you're convinced that ashes 2013 won't make it's June 21st release date. Now that has to be just guess work as you couldn't know that for sure. But you don't seem to be a guy that would say those things without some sort of (secret) information.
However, if your plan is to sneak your game out on the 21st if ashes is indeed late, then you sir are a strategical genius. :thumbs

They have received the ratings for the game from PEGI I guess. Ross mentioned that this can be had even with a totally incomplete game. His post:

PEGI is available as soon as you have indicative content.... I have had PEGI and ESRB ratings for games a year ahead of release with less than 20% completion of the game. Ratings can be done by sending a video of the gameplay.

Not sure if it is public information but 2009 IC was late by an entire Ashes - it was meant to come out the Ashes series prior (poor Codemasters ). Now I am not for a minute suggesting that the other game will be that late, I have no idea how late it will be

Anyway, back to our game - there is nothing clear other than that we will be out later this year, 2013.

Right... okay. I don't know how that all works then, clearly. My expertise is more in media. But that would, I guess... Make sense.

It's all interesting hypotheticals and we'll know sooner than later...

I have ratings for Cricket too, had one of them since 2010 :)

You don't have to submit to Sony or Microsoft to get a rating.

EDIT: Actually you have to have ratings in place *before* submission to Sony or Microsoft.

Is it true that BigAnt Cricket has already been submitted to Sony / Microsoft for approvals???? ;

If yes....can you tell us when it was submitted...just for our general knowledge :D

On the AC13 thing my impression is that Jamie hasn't ever categorically said "it will definitely release on June 21", instead he has said "it is scheduled to release on June 21 and that hasn't changed" (yet).
