Post your questions about the game here!

I would like ashes cricket to get delayed , so that we can have BA cricket at the earliest possible.. :p( many who think of buying only 1 game would love that to happen) :cheers

I'm just waiting for chief to come on here and defend the release date, to be honest if it does get pushed back by say 1 or 2 months i'm ok with it has there is a lot of cricket on this year. :spy

If you're only planning to buy one game, I'd wait until both are out so you can read comparative reviews.

So all of what Ross has told us about the game counts for nothing? Comparatively speaking 505 Ashes has not shown a single screenshot of their game with just over a month left for scheduled release, all we have seen is promotional stuff like podcasts.

Anyway not to sound rude or arrogant, and perhaps I am not a "true" Cricket fan but I simply don't see myself getting Ashes 13 even if it is miles better than Big Ant's game.
On the AC13 thing my impression is that Jamie hasn't ever categorically said "it will definitely release on June 21", instead he has said "it is scheduled to release on June 21 and that hasn't changed" (yet).

Also I think it will be much closer to the release that we will have an official word on a possible delay.

I don't see the problem in that, to be honest. People are going to pay for the game either way. Taking pre-orders, whether it's delayed or not, doesn't really matter because (logically) the people making pre-orders are your tier-one fanbase, ie, the PlanetCricket lot. You're going to get our money either way...

[/Devils Advocate]

Talking rubbish for me there. I have heard a couple of people have already said they have cancelled their pre-orders. I'm pretty sure if Ashes doesn't make their release date a lot more people will not buy the game, me included especially if Bigant manage to release before.

I totally agree with Ross' strategy of only giving a release date when you are totally sure of being able to deliver, that way you don't raise hopes and risk the chance of disappointing. Asking money for a game not yet finished is wrong for me. Yes you could say 'its your choice, just don't pre-order then', but you've got a lot of kids who will pre-order and expect the game on the date they have been told.

Even if I have limited money & the reviews rate AC13 over BigAnt's game, I'm surely not gonna miss out playing this game just for all the long awaited new features they've got it (doesn't matter if they work to their full potential or not). The dedication & approach is enough to convince me to buy their title. And well, I can save money & get AC13 later.

Who has the patience to wait?. Especially when we are deprived of any sort of cricket games for more than 4 years or so.. :D

Kid... If you're smart, you'll have patience for the exact above reason you've pointed out. Four years of nothing and you're going to rush out and buy the first one that hits the shelves?

Wait till you can comprehensively compare both. Make smart decisions.

Guys... this isn't about picking one OR the other. It's about supporting both, ideally. Because we should WANT a competitive cricket game market. It's not about Ashes vs Ant. It's about making a smart consumer decision and supporting the game you believe is the best on the market.

...not the "game that gave me lollies first".

Just be smart consumers. Have patience.

I'll be supporting both products with my wallet, because I want them both to succeed, ultimately competition is better for us, the consumer.

I'm pretty sure if Ashes doesn't make their release date a lot more people will not buy the game, me included especially if Bigant manage to release before.

That doesn't make a lick of sense. You're essentially saying if Ashes does make their release date and it's a terrible game, you'll buy it over BigAnts. That's asinine. Just wait for both to be reviewed, played and then make a decision. You'll wait, what... a month more at most?

Mmm that is not my impression....he actually said it will release on June 21 as confirmed in other place i.e Amazon, EB games etcetera.....

On what he's said about the game, I'm buying it day one. But if you can only get one, I think regardless of the pre-game info, real experiences of playing them is the best way of making a decision.

If I had to pick one game without having played either, I'd get Big Ant's because of the career mode - because I'm fairly sure regardless of how it plays I'd get more replay value out of it.

He seems to be saying the opposite - the only reason someone would buy Ashes is because it would be out first.

...well that's an even stupider reason to buy something. Whenever you buy ANYTHING you compare, contrast and collate information from a variety of sources. It's not time consuming to research a product and make an informed decision.

Because something is "first" doesn't mean it's better.

If you can only financially support ONE game, wait for the reviews and see which game the COMMUNITY is into here. That's the smart choice... which game has the community support with mods, upgrades and so on. If you can, support em both, that way it encourages the developers to continue competing.

No I won't be buying Ashes for a number of reasons, if they don't make their release date then that will add to those reasons.

I don't fully agree with the wait for the review theory, yes its great for the likes of us on pc, but what about the masses (mostly kids) who don't know about this forum and are super excited about the game on release date. You might say, well that's their problem, but I don't see it like that.

Sounds harsh, but kinda true, at least for those who aren't a big fan of the Ashes or the 2 sides contesting for it. The very name that gets in casual customers from those 2 nations, has a negative impact elsewhere. And, this isn't a mere speculation, but just what I see & hear around me. People who desperately seek a cricket title would go for any game that releases first, and I fear many of those who had (have?!) there money on AC13 was for this very fact. If Ross manages to get his game out first, it'd only do bad to 505Games.

Okay, so you've already made a decision based on some personal intelligible criteria. That's completely different to how I (and most people) make purchases - ie, using reason, logic and research.

The kids can wait. Release dates for games get moved all the time. Nobody is buying either game right now because we've seen NOTHING from either game, either in video or gameplay that suggests one is better purchase to make right now.

As I said, if you can only buy/support one. Your best weapon... is patience.

Yeah, that's exactly what he said over in ask chief. It was pretty cut-and-dry unambiguous...

So clearly Ross is either being fed a lie, or Chief is out of the loop... which I imagine, is a fairly serious problem for a producer to be in. Who knows. ...but it's interesting!
