Post your questions about the game here!

So there does exist an Indian market for a cricket game beyond these forums and the internet, albeit small.:p

Well I would not call it small really....loads of people bought AC09 on their consoles in India.

Edit: Dont know if the publishers get a sales figure for the console games sold in India (would love to know that figure). We normally get the UK version of all ps3 and xbox games here.

I think the issue is just as many pirated it... Chief has spoken about that in the past but I think THIS INFORMATION might give you some sales numbers, but no idea how accurate they are.

Yeah, why didn't I receive some of the Naveenncc wisdom to light up our forums :(

Depends on who you speak to, but you either dodged a bullet or missed one of the greater moments on PlanetCricket to date... ;)

Well dont think people pirated it much...since almost all played it online!

As for the sale numbers, since the sales made in India would get added to UK (as we get UK imported copies), how to bifercate the sales?

Edit: I guess we would get a more clearer picture now with respect to the PS3 games, as sony has started to manufacture the game discs locally (Last of us being the first confirmed game to be manufactured locally). But even then, third party titles would still anyways be imported from UK.

indeed stores here that have seen our game have asked that be allowed to take pre-orders but I have declined.

Is it true that you can't show the game to anyone outside of Big Ant until the game has been submitted and/or approved? And do you know if the stores have seen a demo of the Ashes game as well?

Thanks

We can show it to anyone we like as we are the owner of the IP.

None of the stores I deal with in Australia have seen the Ashes game nor have they received any Ashes related marketing materials. They are not scheduled to be in next months displays in either of the major Australian retailers that sell games.

Why does the release or not release of your game depend on the Ashes release? Perhaps you have already explained this ad nauseum but I am thick an alien to the cut and thrust of modern day cricket game marketing strategies!

So at what point can Matt get a playtest?

Not too far away, likely we won't be sending builds too far from Oz, more likely play test sessions first in our offices.

Did you know that Holland is actually in Australia now-a-days? We look very fetching in our clogs and cork hats!

I have seen no evidence that there are marketing strategies behind cricket game releases and urge you to withdraw this misleading and offensive claim.

Sorry Matt. I have re-phrased it.......

...........the slow and unfathomable stagnant pond of non-information and advertising suicide that has the effectiveness akin to building the next channel tunnel with a stick of celery...........

Bottom line is that there are two agencies doing the PR for 505 (that I know of) so the fact it's a cricket game isn't really relevant.

Way to undo all my hard work on subtle hints!

Perhaps if you guys didn't leave so quickly that might have been the case.

There were very compelling reasons to leave when we did and unfolding history has vindicated that move!
