Well not "exactly" as there was no deception or "planting" of info. I was surprised what was found in the files by the guys here, I did not reverse engineer it myself prior to launch.
But I never said it was "deception". My point was that you were aware of all the contents, and made the call to leave the information/data in there. I am sure you followed basic Risk Management, i.e. what information/data was there in the beta, then you evaluated what might be the impact of the information (i.e. will you or the product be impacted adversely coz of the info) and finally determined that there wouldn't be any downside to leaving the data in there.
I was simply trying to say the data/information wasn't an oversight or left by "accident". You knew what information was in there and you made the call to leave it in as this is what I would have expected. I refuse to believe that a successful video game developer would leave the data/information by "accident". This is Risk Management 101 and it would be an insult to you and your team to think the information/data left behind was an oversight.
