Ignorance is bliss!

Passion for this means that there are fine lines, and big thick black ones no doubt, that I probably cross all the time, but you take the good with the bad, hopefully mostly it is good.

This is a game and this part of the site is for entertainment. Indeed, I wouldn't be here for as long as I am on a daily basis unless I was being entertained, this place is a constant source of amusement.

On that note, I am really p*ssed off that you banned NAVEENCC, heretics!

There are plenty more Naveens believe me. Good speaking with you and I wish you good night. In my part of the world the dawn is far too close for comfort.

Also, I see brand "new engine and building from the ground up" reared its head again - they didn't create a new engine and they don't own it - they use Unity as their engine. Same team different coat of paint.

Another thing, it is indeed very enjoyable to see you have a go at your competition ...enjoyable for me and many others here. But everyone here in the end wants some cricket game to play or want some OFFICIAL assurance that it is coming out and coming out in a certain date. And if they do not get what they want they will soon get hostile towards you and your game also forgetting everything u have promised about gameplay and features. We are a very impatient bunch if you have not figured that out already. Just takes one guy here to voice a negative opinion and half the people's minds will get poisoned towards you and your game

This is a friendly place and I feel part of the community here, I'm not that unusual (I think!), most CEO's let you know how it is from their point of view, perhaps the difference is that I am off the leash and am posting to you guys in pretty straight terms.

The fact is sir, you can't teach others what they don't want to learn. I have been thinking of this all along that some of us here don't deserve your game and indeed you as a person. Some of us have been defending the other game at the expense of yours. My simple advice to you is to delay the game until next year, let the people enjoy 505 Ashes cricket!

What sort of tripe or psycho babble is that? People don't "deserve" a video game It's a business. Ross and Big Ant develops & publishes the game and we buy it. Anyone who can shell out the retail price of the game "deserves" it. Last I saw Ross wasn't a Santa doling out the game for free.

As for folks "defending" the other game, all I hear people saying is let's hold our horses and judge the game for what it is post review. How exactly can you slate either game before knowing anything about it? Most folks would actually want both the games to succeed but apparently some people suffer from "if you are not with us you are against us" mentality.

Can't show due to licenses - bah humbug - so everyone in the room yesterday had an NDA?

Also if the license holders don't sign off they have to resubmit. (If indeed they have submitted at all... that's the question to ask.)

Anyway, a little vent at people wasting my time - 4 hours of my life I will never get back....

Cool stuff. Maybe you could make them think they wasted 2 years of their life tyring to make a game by releasing your game first

Ross is honest and transparent. Chief is less than honest and a beguiler.

And I can say this without my judgement being clouded by having a personal or professional relationship with either of them. Criticise or dismiss it as you wish. But I'm confident, based on experience, that although my assessment is expressed tersely for now, it is fair and reasonable.

Last I knew you were laughing at others who said Big Ant were self publishing the game. You were also claiming that Big Ant left the information in the files which was leaked by friend868 on purpose.

Not really a fair comparison is it? Ross is the CEO of the company and can get away with saying stuffs he should not say (for example a lot of features he mentioned, should not have been mentioned and he said it himself the PR team is not liking it). On the contrary chief, even though in a high position but still an employee who is more likely to get in trouble with his boss/bosses and even the PR team who can probably even report him to his boss. Now tell me, if you were in chief's position would you be frank about everything? Or would you be very concious and careful of what u say in a public forum without the consent of ur boss or pr team?

Prove it otherwise. I refuse to believe a beta released by a gaming company headed by someone who has been in the industry for 35 odd years would have stuff left "incidentally". If you believe it I'm sure you also believe in Santa.

So are you saying Chief has not been honest and is following "unfair practices"? Ironic coming from a guy who wants others to be "let be". Before making allegations regarding not following "fair practices and being honest" against others maybe you need to read your own post. Not disclosing information when you are not in a position to is not being dishonest but I'm sure you won't get the point.

I get your frustration but I do not believe chief has ever been dishonest .... Yet. He flat out said if certain features are not in the game while keeping silent on some which can be taken as either yes or no. The game as barmyarmy confirmed is still scheduled to release on june 21st so chief has not lied about that either. Interestingly the way chief confirmed the release date a few weeks ago are open to interpretion and if the game gets delayed that still won't make him dishonest due to the way he worded the answer.

I have already answered this.

Extra data is in the file as Cricket Academy is a subset of the full game and it would take a big effort to remove all of the dependencies.

If I wanted the detail out there I would just release it, far easier than planting stuff in an executable.

My point exactly, i.e. you were aware of the things in there and it wasn't just an oversight. In other words, you made the call to leave the things in there and IMO it was the right thing to do. Why waste time and effort to do something which wouldn't enhance the final product

Well not "exactly" as there was no deception or "planting" of info. I was surprised what was found in the files by the guys here, I did not reverse engineer it myself prior to launch.
