Post your questions about the game here!

Ross has been very vocal against the idea of having mini-games, etc. So I doubt that will be the case. I'm too looking forward to seeing how it is done though! Exciting stuff!

QUESTION: In the career mode, can we choose NOT to play in a certain format? For example, as mentioned earlier, the progression will be generally from T20s towards Test matches (as you increase in ranks). If I don't want to to play T20s, will it be possible? Any guesses?

You can simulate by ball, over, wicket, match...

Just have a quick question, when simulating in IC2010 when you did simulate the ai always bowled with players that wernt you good choice bowlers, will this happen in this game?

Ross, are there ANY locked/uneditable players or teams in the game?

e.g. I'm assuming we can't turn the Don in to a left handed rabbit?

Also are all the filters and retro equipment just for "fun" or will there be preset options to play classic matches/scenarios?

It would be cool if in CA as well as creating matches/tournaments we could set up scenarios... E.g. Bat out the last day with 6 wickets standing, make 23 off the last over to win world cup etc... Any prospect of this?

Thank you for the answer. But I was asking the question from a different perspective. I know you can simulate by ball, over, wicket, etc. (which is a great feature in my opinion. Hats off for that! :thumbs ) But my question was if we can 'retire' or decide not to play AT ALL in one format, in order to focus on another format.

For example, M. Clarke doesn't play in T20s so he can be more fresh, energetic, in-form and less prone to injuries for Tests. Something like that. If you can answer this, it would be great. If not, no problem, but just mention that you have read the question :)

I read everything here :)

I'm not sure - Hopefully MikeM will see this and answer. (I think you'll have to simulate the game in order not to play it.)

Hi Ross,

Quick follow on from the above question; can I become (based upon my attributes and performances) become a Test match specialist (like Rogers or Siddle) or will the progression go T20 - ODI - Tests?

Hey Ross,
The question was about career mode, and I remember you saying that we cannot simulate our own batting/bowling. Please clarify :)

P.S: James has reminded a very valid point in the latest post. I kind of forgot it! I hope MikeM sees it and clarify :)

That's the whole point of my question! Many people would like to emulate certain players and they will specialize in certain formats then. (If I remember correctly, I think you can become a specialist in terms of attributes, at least. The question about progression is what I'm asking as well). I think the progression should not be a rigid one. And based on your domestic performances - in whatever formats that you are constantly performing better - you should be selected for that. The limitation to go from T20s to ODIs to Tests will kind of kill the concept and charm here.

I hope that's not the case and MikeM clarifies this :)

Assuming there's per-format selection, just deliberately play badly in the short form of the game until you're dropped.

I think the game probably just solves that kind of thing by factoring in being able to play all the formats to the calculations on form. The game isn't going to force you to play three forms of the game and then punish you for playing too much cricket.

Sorry, my mistake, I wasn't thinking about Career mode, I was thinking casual match. You can't simulate whenever you are expected to take part (bat/bowl).

Okay.. I have two questions:

1) After a future update to the DBA, will we be able to download competitions/tours along with rosters?

2) While playing a casual match, will we be able to control just one player?

you can dowlnload rosters (teams from ca) and download competitions seperately.you can do the rest.play the tour with the players you want.
i think no for the 2nd question.career mode is there for that.how ever in casual games you can stimulate ball, over ,till a fall of a wicket ,match .. so on

As far as I know, we cannot download competitions in CA, we can only create and edit them.
