Review Retail Version Impressions Thread

The player records are also completely wrong.

Loads of bowlers have average of less than 20 :doh

Rite i have been playing the game a while!

Great test match cricket so far!!

England (AI) 345-5 Stumps on day 1.

It was looking very bad for me at 250-0

However the belter that was the sydney track has begun to turn! Hauritz picked up 3

And a rested Johnson returned last in the day to snick off Strauss for 123

KP came in tried to boss the play... but got undone by a vicious turner from Hauritz and was Plum LBW

A dropped caught and bowled and dropped one at slip!

It could have been a far better day! but from the position i was in.. ill take 5 down! on a belter with quick outfield!

345 in 90 overs is cracking test match cricket! u really got to master the bowling!!

LOVE IT!!

Playing on Hard Mode
T-20 match india(me) won the toss bowled first.

New Zealand got 183/3 at the end of 20 overs
Guptil 85*(65)
McCullum 45(40)
Taylor 27(12)
Oram 12*(11)
They were around 64/1 in the first 10 overs when My spinners came in they took them to all parts of the ground.

Lets see how the chasing goes.

Fair enough, but '68%' to me means don't buy it; 68% means it's a bad game in my book. If a game is good, I expect to see it get 75% plus, up to around 85% - anything higher than that and the game is amazing.

Also, people are posting many stories and updates, including those who said it's mediocre. If it's that bad, why post stories about it?

Also, you say it has not much more than the Ashes. What about the ability to have test series against other nations, don't tell me you can't even do that. Apart from that, it seems to have 20/Twenty (albeit unlicenced) and ODIs - does it have no tournaments, or the ability to create them?

Look at the standard of other cricket games of late, Steve. (It is Steve, isn't it?) It is a decent cricket game. The biggest problem is the AI, which goes from clever to idiotic quicker than Stephen Fry being hit over the head with an anville.

This game will split opinions. I will buy the game for PC, I'm not so sure I'd spend ?35-40 on it the for the PS3/360. Then again, I do know I have the option of the PC version, which is half the price. (That isn't a nag I fully understand the costs of development being the reason for different prices on platforms.)

I like the game, but I can so easily hate it. It's just not consistent and misses a key feature in stat tracking and feels rushed with some things which would not have got through any half decent testing programme. It's that feeling of, "I'm playing a really good cricket game" to "I hate this, it's as bad as some of the other efforts of late", in the matter of a few balls, which reflects the 68% score. It's decent.

Its strange if you work hard on the bowling, i find you can really restrict them to a normal realistic rate!!

Others are playing test matches and getting bowled out for 180 after 20 overs... your batting 22222 quick!!! 180 yeah... but all out!

Well it seems like batting in a test match is easier than the shorter form of the game for sure.

At 60 overs I'm 215/3. I managed to run Cook out with a single that was never there, i tried to cancel but the reaction time of cook was so slow.

Strauss reached his century then top edged one down the leg side which haddin took with a diving catch. Bopara choped onto his stumps going for a late cut shortly afterwards.

My right hand is killing me, for some reason this game makes me grip the controller very tightly. :(

I found this iv had some awsome games that are spot on realistic.. like my current test.. they scored 345-6 after day 1 has been very enjoyable!

But some times they are crazy... and u think...WHAT THE HELL! but luckily the norm has outwayed the crazy so far!! :p

Oh yeh, and as you can see from that screenshot (1st one from the gas), the AI bowls a lot of no balls!
