Once again an Aussie at the forefront of a team rising :)
Never expected a double 100 from two players against that SA attack. I wonder if we will see a double triple 100. 2 days should be more than enough for SL attack to bowl out SA.

They still have a 100-odd runs to go before they beat their own record. Who can forget that unfortunate day when I picked up the newspaper and saw a score of 900+ recorded against India?

Why is Hall bowling ahead of Steyn. Steyn is expensive, but hes the only wicket taker so far. He has pace. After being out there for a day and a half, medium pace ain't going to be as difficult to play.

Man, where did SA go wrong batting. Seems like a flat-as deck.

250 for both now. Wow, this must be painful for South Africans. Come on guys, get ya 300's. I hope they do and then go on the attack. Over 4 an over run rate is great!

" Jayawardene is now the second highest scorer for Sri Lanka, beating Sangakkara 270. "

Ohhhh, this is gonna get interesting :p

They got it!!!

Wow. What a moment in cricket history. Major record!

Now, lets see how high it is set.

Boje is a poor bowler, get him off. It is exactly what the batsmen want to see after lunch.

Man I hope there are fireworks when they reach 300!

9 Years on, Sri Lanka have done it again :D

They've got 4 more sessions before they'll want to get started on South Africa again, will they pass the 1000 in that time?

Boje has been the only one who has troubled the batsmen at times during this partnership, mainly because of the uneven bounce that Murali/Sanath will be eyeing for the second innings bowl. Also, there's no point straining the fast bowlers at this stage and risking injuries, so bowling them in short spells is good enough.

I am not watching it, but bowling 55 overs, 180 runs without a wicket just screams out useless. Try some part timers.

Only 7 overs have been bowled by part timers. Infact bowl someone who has only been seen in the nets. Surely some kind of random and experimental move has to be used.

deVilliers or Gibbs or Amla or just some mroe Prince or Rudolph.

Man, SL are going to wear these bowlers down. They will be so exhausted mentally and physically they are really going to struggle to win the series.

Partnership -> 2 runs away from 600
Jaywardene -> 7 Runs away from 300

300!!!!! up

Lara I am sure will be nervous about this one. lol. I kinda hope his record isn't broken.

As it's only day 3 and they have a enough runs to do an extremely attacking field on the last part of day 4 and on day 5 do you think we'll see one (or both) of them go for 400?

This is pretty passive captaincy.

They seemed to have given up. There doesn't seem to be much effort to get them out, just waiting and waiting.

Part timers!

Lara's record is in grave grave danger now. And with time a non-issue it is almost certain that Lara's record will fall today.

Congrats to the peer, geez what record don't the Sri Lankans have. Took back their ODI record for most runs now biggest partnership. Shame Sangakara got out though as we could have had a double triple 100.
Still we may yet see one more record broken today.

So there goes Sangakkara. Sri Lanka have more than enough runs at this stage. Jayawardene is definitely going for the world record. He also appears to have slowed down which is not a good sign.
