South Africa v South Australia at Adeliade

We have hot and humid conditions and not a cloud in the sky. A flat hard track here in adelaide which should really give a nice advantage to the batsman.

SAF won the toss and elected to bat which is no suprise to anyone. From word go Smith was looking to go after the bowling while Bacher played and anchor after the loss of and early wicket. After 50 over SAF were as follows

SAF 9/296 off 50 overs

G.Smith 95 (89)
A.Bacher 68 (116)

B.Cameron 3/53 (10)
S.Tait 2/32 (10)

In repy to SAF 296 the home side never looked in the match with some slow batting early on leaving the middle order to much work to do in the end.

SA 7/260 off 50 overs

J.Davidson 46 (86)
G.Blewett 47 (79)

J.Ontong 3/55 (8)
P.Adams 1/49 (10)

SAF start off with a gritty 37 run win

South Africa v Queensland at Adelaide

Once again hot and sunny conditions here in adelaide we the South Africans will be going head to head with the top domestic tean in australia the Queensland Bulls. Pitch looks to have a bit in it for both batsmen and bowlers so this should be a good contest.
Jimmy Maher has won the toss and sent the visitor in, he will be hoping for a few early wickets here in the first session.

South Africa bat steady after loosing a couple of early wickets to post a respectable 351.

AB.De Villier 70 (126)
BA.Dippenaar 57 (119)

M.Kasprowics 3/102 (32)
A.Noffke 3/83 (26)

Ntini has completely ripped through the Bulls side bundling them all out for 96 with Smith asking the bulls to follow on.

M.Love 26 (70)

M.Ntini 5/34 (15)
J.Kallis 2/24 (12)

The Bulls second innings was only marginally better than the first notching up an ordinary 158.

M.Love 33 (87)

S.Pollock 4/47 (26)
J.Kallis 2/22 (7)

SAF win by an innings and a heap of runs, this should give them confidence going into the up coming first test in Brisbane.

First Test Australia v South Africa at Brisbane proudly sponsored by Coca-Cola

Welcome to the Gabba here in Brisbane for the first coca-cola test match between the world champions Australia and the well balanced South Africans.
We look ste for a real treat to with a full house and an absolute barmy day. The pitch looks like a superb test pitch with something their for both batsmen & bowlers.

Well Ricky Ponting has won the toss and sent the South Africans in.
Mark Taylor: Ricky having a bowl mate, a bit of a gamble dont you think?
Ricky Ponting: Tubby it is a bit of a gamble but the pitch looks to have a bit in it and i think with pigon, dizzy & bing on target early on we may be able to put a bit of a dent in the top order.
Mark Taylor: Thanks punter good luck mate.
Ricky Ponting: cheers.
Mark Tayler: Graham you have beenput in whould you have done anything different mate.
Graham Smith: No mark we were planning to have a bat, it does look like it will do a bit early on but after that there looks to be a lot of runs in it.
Mark Taylor: Good luck Graham.
Graham Smith: Thanks mark.

Well there you have it ricky ponting has won the toss and sent South Africa in. The two teamsline ups are as follows and we will be back in a few minates for the start of the match.

Coca-cola Tea time review

Tea time here in the first test and after being against the ropes the South Africans have stage a remarkable recovery scoring 123 runs in the sesion with out loss. Two big supprises here since lunch, the first being the question thats is on every ones lips, why has Warne only bowled two overs? Is he injuryed? Has ponting lost the plot? or some other explaination??
The other suprise, Graham Smith with ten minates left in the lunch break called in Anna K for some inspiration for the boys, she moddled the new women cricket gear (see below) and just like the Aussies in the first session their wasnt a loose ball (or two) in sight. Smiths attractive stunt seemed to do the trick, could this be a new evolution in sports physcology? Is Smith a guenius? only time will tell.

Well the players and umpires ar making their way out to the middle so lets get back to the action.

TEA DAY 1

SAF 4/245

H.Gibbs 110 (159) no
AB. De Villiers 79 (110) no

G.McGrath 2/59 (16)
B.Lee 1/78 (19)

Coca-cola Stumps Report

Well stumps here at the gabba were South Africa is in a commanding position at 6/378. We had a superb days cricket with plenty of action and drama keeping it upvibe and interesting both on and off the field. The highlights of the day being a brilliant 138no from AB.De Villiers and 114 from H.Gibbs.

The final session today saw the loss of two wickets for 133 runs, the wickets falling being Gibbs to a wild shot across the line to Clarke and Boucher to a excellent catch from Gilchrist off the bowling od Lehmann.

STUMPS DAY1

SAF 6/378

AB.De Villiers 138 (183) no
A.Hall 16 (28) no
H.Gibbs 114 (163)

G.McGrath 2/78 (18)
D.Lehmann 1/41 (8)

Normally Mark Taylor would interview the captains now but he was last seen leaving the groung with a lass in a yellow bikini.
Ricky Ponting will no doubt refect on today and ponder what might have been after have SAF in all sorts of bother at lunch. On the otherside of the coin we have Graham Smith who will no doubt be looked on as a hero after todays phenominal recovery inspired by former tennis player Anna K. Well that only leaves one question on everybody mind, Warnie whats the go? Only three overs bowled in the day by the worlds leading wicket taker!!!!!

Well thats all for today from the gabba we ll be back at 11.00am tommorrow and look forward to your company then.
