I think all we need is one good session where we can pick 4-5 wickets and a few more sessions of play. We have 6 sessions to bowl out SA. One session of 4-5 wickets and 2 other sessions where we can pick the remaining ones and we should be home. Lets hope that the rain does not wash out a whole day's play. Either way, I am very satisfied with India's performance. They lost the toss, they allowed SA to rake up 218/1 or so, and yet they come back superbly to be in the position that they are in right now. SA have themselves to blame. They dropped so many chances, made bad selections (not bringing in a specialist keeper and having DeVilliers, playing Smith inspite of a fractured finger). They were also quite intimidated by the vociferous crowd at Eden which was not even at half the actual capacity.
Yusuf Pathan, Nayar, Ashwin picked for the ODI series
Nayar and Ashwin are good picks. Still dont believe Yusuf is the right choice. But if he really has found that form in recent times and can prove himself by scoring for India, I wont mind having him in the side. But we shouldnt pick our team having him as a bowling option in mind.

Yusuf has been batting well in Domestic Cricket recently, IIRC he was part of a massive chase and anchored it. However, I do get the feeling he is absolutely gonna get owned by Steyn and Parnell...

He has played two good innings. That is it. Two. He was dropped 5 times in one of those innings.

He was dropped 5 times in the 210* innings which means on an average, he was dropped on 42 runs each time. Lucky guy.

wowee how terrible have we played in this game...
I mean usually few things piss me off or get me as upset as SA losing a test match. Usually it severely gets to me an I just avoid following the game at all and go on in denial lol But seriously....as much as India has clobbered us so far, I think we're responsible for the sh!t we're in.
Dropped catches galore, we probably could have had India out for roughly the same score we were dismissed for but our terrible catching and missed stumpings etc. have basically gifted them 300+ runs. Dont even get me started on the ridiculous collapse in the first innings.
I honestly dont give a crap if we lose this match, which I think we will. When we play like this we really dont deserve anything....unless we finally grow some spines and characters and bat out the next 2 days but I hardly see that happening. Not even bad weather can stop this now and I cant honestly see us making it through day 4 without losing.
Shocking turn of events, but thats the way we roll......few teams can "snatch a defeat from the jaws of victory" the way we do. We even make simply drawing the game looks like an insurmountable task. Pretty pathetic...

On a more optimistic note I think SA can salvage the draw. What better line up than Graeme Smith, Amla and Kallis to play for a draw.

I agree. If they do it, they deserve the Number one spot. If they dont do it, India still have to beat SA in SA to fully stake claim of No.1 (although SA also wont have full claim). SA have nothing to lose here. For India, its all 'loss' scenario.
A 3rd test, possible in Mumbai or Chennai, would have been fantastic. I dont care much abt the ODI's
