Any test series vs SA will be exciting. Our players will get good chances to prove their mettle. One thing though, I wish Yuvraj fails badly in Bangladesh and gets sacked by the time SA hit Indian territory. We need guys like Badri, Kohli or Vijay to play.

Even if this happens, how can you drop him after 2 flop test matches?

Flopping against Bangladesh is quite big, right?

Vijay has the technique to fit into the middle order even when Sehwag and Gauti are still there. Thats what we were all talking about when we saw Vijay play that innings of 81 against Sri Lanka.

And forget his past performances before those 2 test matches.

With injuries to Laxman and Dravid, a big hole might be opened up in our batting order. Vijay will take up one spot. Hope Badrinath is roped in to add solidity to the middle order against South Africa. With Yuvraj also most likely out, we will need Badrinath against SA. Manish Pandey or Kohli will be gambles. Badrinath has been knocking the test doors for very long. Hope he is given the chance.

He has all that weight of runs that he has scored behind him. He deserves it more than anyone else because previous times he has been rebuked and not picked. Also he has some sort of a veteran status in domestic cricket. Others like Pandey and Kohli need more time before they are blooded in test cricket.

Nayyar?? He doesnt even find a place in the ODI's and you want a bits and pieces guy like him in tests.

Maybe not a bad idea. Gambhir is used to batting one down in ODI's. And since he is as good against spin, he wont find it too tough.

Neither of them are decent choices. Raina against Steyn and co at Nagpur (Nagpur is a pitch with good bounce and carry)? Rohit Sharma is also a poor choice. Both are not ready for test cricket.

Ideally, it should be a race between these four - Virat Kohli, Subramaniam Badrinath, Cheteshwar Pujara and Manish Pandey

Nayyar in test matches is different fish all together. He is batsman mainly and should not be judged on his IPL stints. Pandey has been doing good as well.

No Dravid, Laxman will show how we will go in future without these players.
