Who will win the La Liga this season?

There are some really good players in teams other than Real, Barca and Valencia in the Spanish League, but never get the credit they deserve. Being a close viewer of La Liga for the last eight seasons, I know a lot more about the players than most in this forum. And I know is that had he been playing in the Premiership, Joaquin would have been hailed as one of the finest in the business.

Like I said he will be noticed more at Valencia, especially since they are also in this season's Champions League. His pace and quality of crosses is simply awesome, and makes him a complete winger.

He may have been hailed as a diver and complete flop if he were in the EPL(I.E.You have no idea how he would perform in the EPL)...Anyway,i know there are many other good players in Spain, but how many real qaulity defenders are there? The weakness i see with Spanish football is the lack of good defences(As a whole)..For example:Barca and Madrid are far weaker at the back than up front.

I agree about the defenders, but Joaquin is not, and neither does he dive.

My point is if Manure can pay as much for someone like Carrick, then surely Joaquin's price is justified.

Here are the final Kit numbers for the Madristas:

1. Iker Casillas.
2. Michel Salgado.
3. Roberto Carlos.
4. Sergio Ramos.
5. Fabio Cannavaro.
6. Mahamadou Diarra.
7. Ra?l Gonz?lez.
8. Emerson Ferreira.
9. Luiz Naz?rio de Lima "Ronaldo".
10. Robson da Sousa "Robinho".
11. Cizero Joao "Cicinho".
13. Diego L?pez.
14. Jos? Mar?a Gutierrez "Guti".
15. Ra?l Bravo.
17. Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
18. Antonio Cassano.
19. Jos? Antonio Reyes.
21. Iv?n Helguera.
22. Francisco Pav?n.
23. David Beckham.
24. ?lvaro Mej?a.
26. Javi Garc?a.
27. Rub?n de la Red.
28. Antonio Ad?n.
29. Francisco Casilla.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

So,

-Diarra took Helguera's Number 6,
-Emerson took Baptista's Number 8,
-Cassano took Woodgate's Number 18,
-Van Nistelrooy took Portillo's Number 17,
& -Jose Antonio Reyes took Number 19.

As far as i'm concerned i hope Reyes rots this season, and realises how good Arsenal really is.Ungratefull fool!
You cant fault him. If he cant settle at a place its bad for both club and player.

Why sign a six year deal?!And as far as i'm concerned if you can't settle in England you aren't going to go anywhere...Hopefully we'll play Baptista in his right position.Madrid wasted him...

Thats non-sense. Settling in a different country is not an easy thing. It can happen to the best of players.

Maybe Madrid wasted Baptista, or maybe he was simply not upto the mark that we expected him to be.

I disagree...All great players(whether they've played in the EPL or not) should be able to perform in every league, especially the Prem.Well considering Baptista scored a fair few goals for Sevilla i think that Madrid wasted him,as they've wasted most of their stars.

Yes he did play well for Sevilla, and thats why Real paid so much for him last year. And he got more than enough chances to prove himself and failed to do so. With the likes of Emerson and Diarra in the team now, Baptista would struggle miserably to get a starting place.

Also if you think the Prem is some short of a benchmark, then you should think again. Bolton are filled with rejects from other leagues. Players like Vieria, Beckham, Gravesen who were so good in the Prem have found it tough in Italy and Spain.

However saying that I do reckon Baptista will do well in the Prem because of his physical ability, something that suits the English game more. But he clearly lacks the flair and creativity that was expected of him at Madrid. He just dint live up to his name.

I've begun to wonder just what Madrid plan on running in terms of a strategy (the Villarreal game wasn't televised here in the States :(). I mean, like a 4-3-1-2 or something? I'm just trying to think who would be the starters. Something like this maybe:
Casillas
Salgado Cannavaro Ramos R.Carlos
Beckham Diarra Emerson
Ra?l
van Nistelrooy Ronaldo

and have Robinho, Reyes, and Cicinho off the bench?

And on the subject of Baptista, I do think that Madrid utilized him the wrong way. The role that they needed him to play is better played by people like Raul and Guti. If Arsenal let him play like he did in Sevilla, then he'll will certainly be 'The Beast' again. And I don't think that Reyes should be heckled for wanting out of Arsenal. Yes, he may seem a bit ungrateful - but his heart has been with Madrid for a long time (remember that radio interview? ;)). He got the opportunity to play for his dream club and he took it, even though he acted a bit like a child in the process.

Well Ramos might replace either Bravo at the middle or Salgado at right back, where he has done well for Spain.

Against Villarreal, Raul was playing on the left of the midfield, and did a good job throughout. However I think with Reyes in the team now we could have a 11 something like this.

------------------------Casillas-----------------------------
Ramos/Salgado------Cannavaro------------Bravo/Mejia/Pavon--R Carlos/Bravo
-------------Emerson-------------Diarra---------------------
------Beckham-------------------------Reyes/Robinho-------
-----------------------Raul/Robinho-------------------------
-------------------Cassano/RVN/Ronaldo
