And Spain have one Super club called Barcalona,and then another group which includes a number of clubs including Madrid and Valencia... :)
If that's true, than England have one Super Club named Chelsea, a group of others that are competing for second place (Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal), a group of decent teams that are looking for a UEFA cup spot (Borough, Tottenham, Newcastle), and then a whole bunch of rubbish teams. That is why I am of the opinion that Spain is a better league top to bottom - teams like Celta Vigo can come out of the blue and qualify for Europe. But this happens all the time in Spain, Wigan is most certainly a one-off. Look at the numbers, La Liga only had one team with a GD of less than -20, Malaga (-32). The EPL had four: Sunderland (-43), West Brom (-27), Birmingham (-22), and Portsmouth (-25).

But Man U Liverpool and Arsenal are all better than Valencia and Real Madrid,and Tottenhma would push both Valencia and Madrid.The fact that you have teams from the bootom coming up and doing well could say that your league just sucks,and isn't far ahead of the second division...And i would also say that both West Ham and Blackburn had good years.

OK, I'm tired of arguing. Let's just agree to disagree and leave this thread for its original purpose - talking about La Liga. No comparisons with other leagues, no bashing players/teams, no arguing. Friendly discussions only.

Anyways...

Hopefully Real's new signings will prove themselves in Spain.

My starting lineup for Real

-------------------Casillas------------------

-Salgado---S Ramos----Cannavaro---Carlos--

-----------------Emerson-------------------

Beckham-----------------------Reyes/Robinho

-------------------Raul--------------------

--Ronaldo/Cassano----Van Nistelrooy/Cassano--

And by the way this is the Spanish squad for the Iceland game

Goalkeepers: Reina (Liverpool), Casillas (Real Madrid);
Defenders: Antonio L?pez, Pablo and Pern?a (Atl?tico Madrid), Puyol (Barcelona), Juanito (Betis), Michel Salgado and Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Marchena (Valencia);
Midfielders: Cesc (Arsenal), Iniesta and Xavi (Barcelona), Joaqu?n (Betis), Oubi?a (Celta), Luis Garc?a and Xabi Alonso (Liverpool), Albelda (Valencia);
Forwards: Reyes (Arsenal), Fernando Torres (Atl?tico Madrid), Ra?l (Real Madrid), David Villa (Valencia).

So Oubi?a comes in, while Senna and Canizares are out.

About time too. Wont surprise me though, because I know how good they actually are. Its only a matter of time before the whites return to where they belong, the top!

Spain drew 0-0 with Iceland, in what was a disappointing display. But it was a big day for captain Raul Gonzalez Blanco who picked up his 100th international cap. Only former goalkeeper Zubizaretta has more I think.

It would've been nice if he got a goal in that match, but you can't have it all.

Anyways, I think that the big move for Madrid was getting Cannavaro. Now Casillas isn't all by himself ;). And getting Capello didn't hurt either. :D Hopefully there'll be a party at Las Cibeles come spring! :happy
