Sorry, there performances are not just underachievements, they are absolutely rubbish!
Second in La Liga (the best league in Europe) wasn't a bad result, albeit less than they should have gotten. You're right though, losing a team like Arsenal in the quarters of the CL is indeed 'absolute rubbish.' :D

more than one class yes, but just one world class dependable one.
So by that rule, madrid have none...

Well you say it's the best league in Europe, and i say it's the third....And the fact that Englannd have four top teams insteead of one, proves my point that England is better...Even spurs could beat Madrid! :D

Wait a second,if Man U,Arsenal and Liverpool are rubbish, what are Madrid?Absolutely woeful, and Valencia aren't far ebhind them...We have four top teams,Spain has one. It's very hard to dispute that!

It is very easy to dispute that. Madrid have had just 3 bad seasons (during which they still managed to qualify for Champions League). In recent years Madrid won the Spanish titles in 2001 and 2003, and the Champions League in 98, 2000 and 2002. Valencia have won the La Liga titles in 2002 and 2004. Valencia also made it to the CL finals in 2000 and 2001. Valencia have also knocked out Arsenal every time the two teams have met in Europe. Arsenal can NEVER beat Valencia.

And its not that the Spanish league doesnt have as many top teams, its just a whole lot more competitive, from top to bottom. Hence we dont always get the same four or five teams finishing top. Dont forget Villarreal made it to the semis last season, and failed to even qualify for the Uefa Cup from the league.

Even Italy has more top class teams than the EPL. Both the Milans, Roma, and Juve have had a greater presence than most of their english counterparts.

I'm not talking about three years ago,i'm talking about now.Arsenal may not have beaten Valencia, but there is no doubt we are better...At the moment Barcalone are the only Top team...Though there's no discounting the qaulity of Valencia and Rela Madrid.Again,we beat Juventus who won the Italian Championship...and it was only Juventus and Mian who were actually competing for the title!~England for ever!

Juve had bought the title, and Milan had done a bit too. So beating Juve is no big deal after all.

And I disagree that Arsenal are better than Valencia until Arsenal beat them.

I disagree. England has more top class teams than Italy. The simple fact is Chelsea have bought the title and ruined English football with ridiculous sums.

Italy has AC Milan, Juventus and Inter who class as top class, then there is a band including Lazio, Roma, Parma and Fiorentina.

England currently has, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Then the second band has Tottenham, Newcastle and Man City.

Still they can't win the World Cup mate then what you gonna do with those club players if they can't score on penalty shoot-outs.

And those domestic players play international football also i guess. If you have good domestic set up for football then why can't they play well in international matches.

Well gaurav, that isn't on topic for this thread! And wasn't what I was referring too, but to answer your question, our International players dont play as a team.

Like Chelsea you mean?! :D And so you think Arsenal is better than Madrid because we beat you at home,i doubt you do...so your argument doesn't cut with me.

And Spain have one Super club called Barcalona, and then another group which includes a number of clubs including Madrid and Valencia... :)
