Big night for Barca and Madrid as Sevilla only drew yesterday. Madrid can go top if Barca draw or lose.

Also in last night's game between Osasuna and Atletico, the former had four players sent off.

EDIT:

Barca won 3-0. While we battled to a 1-0 victory over Mallorca. I thought we played well in the second half though. First half there were just two chances - one to Higuan which the keeper blocked well and Sergio Ramos' header that hit the crossbar.

Second half Madrid had more possesion of the ball and played the long ball well. Robinho had a glorious oppurtunity but he hit it high. And then some 10 minutes from time Reyes took and executed a perfect free kick into the top left corner - BRILLIANT!!

So with that Barca, Sevilla and Real are all level at 38 points at the top of the table. Valencia is next with 36.

Well Ronaldo has gone to AC Milan. Good move for him I think really he has had a bad time over the last couple of years. (Mainly his fault though)

Great move by Ronaldo since he has rarely even played a game for Real Madrid. Hope he can some day reach his peak such as the 99 WC but I seriously doubt it. Ronaldo and Kaka will be an excellent duo to watch.

Big game this weekend as Barcelona play Valencia. Barca are having some internal problems and it will be interesting to see whether it affects their performance. Valencia suffered a shock 3-0 defeat to Getafe last weekend and will be looking to bounce back from that.

Real Madrid will be playing Real Betis. Betis knocked Madrid out of the Copa Del Rey a few weeks back. Time for revenge??

I expect Real to win comfortably. Barca Valencia will be an interesting match indeed. Valencia have looked really good, bar that indifferent period of 6 games or so. You say shock defeat to Getafe. I guess it is in terms of history and size of club, but Getafe have been a very good side so far this season. Good to see!

yeah i expect Real to win their game but the Barca-Valen game will be a cracker but i expect Barca to edge it in the end...

I love Barca/Valencia games because there's always loads of passion and fierce tackling. It's how football should be played.

it was one of the few spanish games i watched last year as i find it pretty boring but Victor Valdes' clearance was hilarious last year

You find it boring because you dont know most of the other teams (except Real, Depor) and their players. Football wise its probably the most competitive in the world today.

Also its true that Getafe have had a good season, just like Recreativo. But still Valencia had made a strong comeback after an intial blip in form and werent expected to be thrashed last weekend.

Valencia-Barca games have always been entertaining and one of the most memorable ones was a few seasons ago when it was the last game of the season and both teams fighting for the final CL spot and Rivaldo's fantastic winner handed the Catalans a 3-2 win.

Real Betis will not be as easy as you think. They played well in the last weekend's derby game against Sevilla. But yes Madrid should get the three points. Next week Madrid have a tough game against local rivals Athletico.

That was one of the most awesome games I've ever watched live. That bicycle kick in the last minute was worth something like 20 million. In reality it's value can't really be measured, as it kept them in the champions league for the next season, and history after that shows Barca certainly built on that.

I just think the game is played at a much slower pace and I prefer the premiership. I'd rather watch bolton arsenal than valencia villareal

Joe, if you think La Liga is slower paced than the Premiership then I think you have dodgy eyes. The Premiership is a slow and boring league, typical English.

To be fair it is a lot do with watching it on fanzone ;) but i still think it's slower :p
