Sri Lanka tour of New Zealand

Yeah SL are favourites.. They performed well in practice matches...

If i look at the sides man for man, SRL has a distinct advantage there. I feel they are a better travelling side these days. They beat England as tourists, which is no easy feat normally. New Zealand always seems to get off to a slow start, so i would expect them to struggle in the first test, but come back stronger in the second test.

Unfortonatly the first test is already decided. It will be a draw.

The track is going to be in favor of the batsmen and we will be lucky to get much cricket Friday and Saturday with rain forecaset. Very dissapointing.

I am going in today anyway, weather looks calm.

I am sick and tired of the rain we have never had this much in spring and summer before. It is disgusting. Bloody global, warming.

Your joking right? This pitch is going sideways for Bond and Martin with a fair bit of a pace off the wicket. I reckon NZ will crush SL in this game in these conditions. Bond is a machine...

3 down now Bond is on fire..

What did I tell you, SL will struggle in NZ and Bond will rip them apart. Great stuff from Tharanga though, survived Bond's opening spell which is a dam hard ask.

Martin was also very unlucky not to pick up his 100th wicket. The ball passed the edge of the bat so many times! great start, but the sun is out and it looks a lot better for the batsmen after lunch, lets see how they go.

I also told the same thing :) but i feel, the conditions will improve as the pitch gets used up ... I guess it shd favour batting well on third day! Also its very bold decision from Jayawardena to choose to bat!

The curator said the pitch will offer assistance to the bowlers early on but will get flatter as the match goes on so definitely a strange decision.

only two captains have chosen to bat in the last 10 matches there, it always offers the most on the first morning/day, always better to try and bat two days on days 2-3.

Tharanga out.. Franklin strikes! SL in deep trouble now!

I knew Franklin would come good in these conditions, SL lower order certainly isn't one of their strong points as they have some unknowns. Kapugedera is new to the scene and I've never heard of Silva.

Well i have to swallow my pride and admit a mistake, i would not have selected Franklin to play on recent form. But boy has he come right and how..the conditions are right up his alley and he is such a confidence bowler.

swingers bowling to SRL batsmen looks the way to go.

I hope Bond and Franklin leave a victim for Martin!

Franklin striked with his third wicket now! What a spell this is turning ut to be.. Initially Bond now followed by Franklin!

Don't forget though that with Murali in their side, batting last is never going to be easy ;)

SL : 121/7 now!
If NZ can get a huge score as batting favours in upcoming days, Then there are chances of winning by an innings too... ;) quite optimitic view on NZ though :p
