MATCH REPORT:- END OF INNINGS
---------------------------------------------------
India set Sri Lanka a target of 741 runs, in a maximum of 94 overs. Sri Lanka reached the target with 5 wickets in hand, and 6.5 overs to spare.

Sri Lanka batted well through the first 2 sessions of their last innings, they were goin at a Run Rate of 11.38 Runs Per Over going into their last 2 sessions. The spinners bowled very good for India drying up the runs, whilst taking wickets. Harbhajan Singh was the best of the Indian bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 117, and an economy rate of 6.5 runs per over. Tendulkar and Singh were the key to the final two sessions, and even though they couldn't stop the rampaging Sri Lankans they definetly were the shining light to the Indian Bowling Figures.

Sanath Jayasuriya was the hi-light for the Sri Lankan Batting Card scoring 422* (285). That the was highest score ever made in the history of International cricket, beating the previous best score of 380 by Matthew Hayden

Batting Highlights:
Sanath Jayasuriya: 422* off 285 balls.
Marvan Atapattu: 189 off 99 balls.
Mahela Jayawardene: 45 off 55 balls.
Kumar Sangakkara: 43 off 35 balls.

Bowling Highlights:
Harbhajan Singh: 18 overs, 0 maidens, 3/117
Sachin Tendulkar: 14.1 overs, 1 maiden, 0/75

Jayasuriya:
"What a great win! Our bowlers were pretty disappointing, bowling a lot of loose deliveries, but some good batting snuck us over the line. All credit to the Indian players who put up a good fight."
