Everybody seems sold out on Ethir Neechal. Is it really that good?

Its worth watching once, but don't go with too much expectations. 2nd half goes emotional, and is not even effective at it. First half is very good with the comedy and all....

Udhayam NH4 is a totally different type.I wont call it a movie actually.Its like one episode of a mega serial.But yes,depicts true love,so many loopholes in the film,Sid has done a nice role.

Maryan by AR Rahman!!

Eclectic variety of music... Ranging from tingling and soothing melodies, to the amazing African fusion with folk/kuthu. Rahman has a ball with the composition. Favorite numbers right now - "Kadal Raasa Naan (Komben Sura)" sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja, "Innum Konja Neram" sung by Vijay Prakash, Swetha Mohan and "Sonapareeya" sung by Javed Ali and Haricharan. Other songs are also good, but still to get in deep in them.

That Kadal Rasa song i think the BG music is amazing but the lyrics!Kanji aripochu,saayankalam achu!WTH!

Oh come on dude! Its a song sung by the fishermen near the sea (even the trailer had the song). You obviously can't have classical Tamil lyrics in every song. For this type of song, the lyrics fit in beautifully. Its refreshing to hear a very local'ish lyrics for a Rahman song. Dhanush IMO has done a very good job with the lyrics.

I am in major love with the haunting melodies like "Innum Konjam Neram", "Naetru Aval" and "Enga Pona Raasa". Esp. "Enga Pona Raasa" is utterly painful. Shaktisree Gopalan (the Nenjukulle girl from Kadal) imparts so much pain through the song that I paused the song for a few secs to bring myself back up. MARYAN IS A MASTERPIECE FROM ARR!!! Wish this album had a simultaneous release in Telugu and Hindi. Re-doing it now will lead to butchering of lyrics in those respective languages.

Yes its nice,i dont deny but those lyrics sound a bit odd for such a BG.BG is totally drowning me into the vibs.As you say its for the situation.

Not sure how many have watched this, but the special "Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi" episodes with Kamal Haasan are GEMS!! Priceless gems..... Kamal Haasan is an encyclopedia. I never thought I could be entertained this much by him just talking so much about cinema, life, history, etc. I was just wishing that Prakashraj stopped asking those game questions, and just let Kamal talk for hours. It was pure pleasure to hear Kamal like this. Note: I am not a Kamal fanatic. I am a Rajni fanatic, but love Kamal movies too. I am that rare breed of guys who loves both these evergreen legends.
