Tamil Music/Movie Thread

The trailer definitely excites me and more importantly, the reviews have been good, the film also involves Vetrimaaran the script writer and Vertrimaaran the producer, so yeah, I'm definitely sold on it.

Only song I've heard from the film, superb from Gana Bala I must say. :clap

@Epic: Definitely! I am watching the film tomorrow. The reviews has been very good, and the mere fact that Vetrimaaran is the script/dialogue/screenplay writer of the film is enough for me to watch the film without even reading the reviews.

It seems Dhanush and Vetrimaaran have been working on this script for 5 years. Probably Dhanush was to do it, but then he couldn't. The songs are FANTASTIC. My favorite is "Maalai Pon Maalai" and "Ora Kannala" (the song by Gaana Baala). "Yaaro Ivan" is also excellent.

Yeah, Vetrimaaran apparently narrated the story to Dhanush while he was working on Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam(Balu Mahendra's last film, Vetrimaaran was Balu Mahendra's assistant, so the connections are there for all to see), Dhanush liked it and thus agreed to act in the film, but it just never got going, with the producers having changed something ridiculous like 3 times and only 2 days of the films shoot completed.

After all that, the film eventually fell to the hands of producer S. Katheresan when Vetrimaaran narrated both the story of Udhayam NH4 and Polladhavan, he didn't like Udhayam NH4, but liked Polladhavan(I liked it too :p) and thus that film was shot and released.

That's the movie's production history(involving Dhanush), courtesy of Wikipedia.

How nice of Vetrimaaran though, handing his assistant his own script and also co-producing the film alongside Dayanidhi Azhagiri, classy guy indeed.

Please dont see settai even if you get a free ticket.

Worst film in the history of comedy capers.

Yuck!

Just back from watching "Udhayam NH4". Good one time watch! A road based romantic thriller like Ghilli, Run, Paiyaa, etc. Kay Kay Menon was the highlight of the film as far as performances go. No one else rose up above the average level, including Siddarth. The heroine and her dubbing was pretty poor. The script and the dialogues were major highlights for the film to be an entertaining one.

Major disappointment with the song picturisations. They didn't picturise the "Maalai Pon Maalai song at all (not even use it in BGM), and their picturisation of "Vaa Iravugal" and "Indroru Thadaigal" was grossly pathetic. But the BGM by GV Prakash was apt enough for the genre of the film and moved the film forward pretty well. Not in the league of Polladhavan or the above movies mentioned, but nonetheless, a decent watch.

Are you serious? I couldnt bear Delhi Belly itself, the original. Do you think I would waste my time again, and bury myself in the sand. Plus I am not a big Santhanam fan too, and Premji ellam Venkat Prabu padathula dhan OK ah iruppan... Arya is another aravekkadu.
