Story Team India- Men in Blue's Diary||Indian Tour to New Zealand-//Australia VS India, First Innings//-

U19 captain really means nothing. I mean, Nathan Hauritz was the Aussie U19 captain but he hasn't even come close to vice captain as New South Wales let alone his country.

But Kohli was the vice Captain of Royal Challengers Banglore (for two matches) and Delhi.

Australia team, after a day, started their practice at Chennai for the first time at this tournament.
They even were to play a practice match against India A after a day.
It was a great surprise to Tim Paine that he was going to get coached under Adam Gilchrist who was at India, representing Deccan Chargers. Cricket Australia did appoint Adam Gilchrist as a additional coach for wicket keeping as there was no experienced keeper for them.

Mean while, the actual skipper Ricky Ponting just gave a surprise to the total team by arriving at Chennai Airport when they were practicing.

Spinners like Nathan Hauritz, Cameroon White, Michael Clarke and Andrew Symonds were said that their responsibility in the team to take wickets was very crucial.
BCCI did announce the 13 membered side for India A something like this:-
1) S.Badrinath(C)
2) Ajinkya Rahane
3) Laxmipati Balaji
4) Tirumalsetti Suman
5) Ambati Rayudu
6) Reetender Singh Sodhi
7) Stuart Binny
8) Sreevats Goswami
9) Manish Pandey
10) Shadab Jakati
11) Sudeep Tyagi
12) Ashoke Dinda
13) Munaf Patel
And even said that it'll be India A who'll be replacing the India U-19 side as selection of U-19 side is difficult at this moment. (As compiling of players was not yet done)

Ricky even joined the practice and they Australian Team got ready to face the first game against India A.
Ricky said that he won't be playing the first two practice games as said earlier but he'll sit along with team officials like Gilchrist and talk about the players.

Australian team even did announce probable XI for the first practice game against India A.
It went something like this:-
1) David Warner
2) Shane Watson
3) Michael Hussey
4) Ben Rohrer
5) Andrew Symonds
6) Tim Paine
7) James Hopes
8) Mitchell Johnson
9) Brett Lee
10) Nathan Hauritz
11) Dirk Nannes

Good update mate. I like your presentation.
You mentioned Tim Paine at 3 and 6 in Aussie's playing XI.

Guys, I am thanking everyone who ever is posting here as a token for them for reading my story. Don't think that I became mad posting for all the posts which even doesn't have meaning..:)
And even, I'll sim the games using Cricsim. For ODI's, I'll post previews from AC09, C2K7 and for practice matches, I won't post any gfx or previews for practice games.

1) David Warner
2) Shane Watson
3) Michael Hussey
4) Ben Rohrer
5) Andrew Symonds
6) Tim Paine
7) James Hopes
8) Mitchell Johnson
9) Brett Lee
10) Nathan Hauritz
11) Dirk Nannes

Quite interesting line up,Maybe if hopes will open it can really surprise Indians although David Warner is in good form in clt20 and Shane Watson showed what he can do in champions trophy.Nice update mate keep up the good.Waiting for first odi.

PC Tv just moved across some busy threads in Planet cricket and found people keeping their view out about the selection.

Australia to win the series ;)

"Ben Rohrer" is squad nice to see a new face in the side.Australia team look 's strong but after all India will win the series and we know that.

Aah..:facepalm
Didn't like Symonds' inclusion in the squad

Oh no! No Dhoni...good luck to India..

Didnt like the part where Kohli is made captain. He may be a great U-19 captain but the fact is guy who cant even justify a position in the 11 is made captain. I understand the part where he is young and may be a future captain, but still seems like a foolish move to me. Train him as a future one, but in a high profile series like this it would have made a lot more sense to give him the captaincy to Yuvraj or Sehwag.

Uthappa is a welcoming move though. I never really understood the reason behind his drop in the first place, so seeing him back is a good sign.

Waiting to see what happens when the bad boys Sreesanth and Symonds go on! :D

I too feel that Kohli as the skipper is a poor move by team India.
A skipper should be someone who commands the respect of his team mates and Kohli doesn't quite have that.Yuvraj Singh should have been made the skipper.

Ishant deserved to be dropped but Zaheer missing out is a huge set back.

Yusuf Pathan should have been dropped too after his series of pathetic performances with the bat lately.

Praveen Kumar was unlucky not to be considered but Sreesanth will consider himself very lucky here.

India really needs to win this series to regain the respect from the Indian fans.

And why Virat Kohli as captain.

U19 captain really means nothing. I mean, Nathan Hauritz was the Aussie U19 captain but he hasn't even come close to vice captain as New South Wales let alone his country.

It's good to see Rohrer getting a go batting for Australia at #4. We will have to wait and see if he can pull off something spectacular to grab a spot in the side.

(on probable XI of practice game 1 )Quite interesting line up,Maybe if hopes will open it can really surprise Indians although David Warner is in good form in clt20 and Shane Watson showed what he can do in champions trophy.Waiting for first odi.

Overall, most of the people are against Virat Kohli as skipper.

If I knew you were going to quote the posts, I might have made them better instead of just like, "Rohrer at #4, lets see if he performs" and instead, something like, "It's good to see Rohrer getting a go batting for Australia at #4. We will have to wait and see if he can pull off something spectacular to grab a spot in the side".

Yeah, I even felt in the same way. If I'd let all people know about it. But, I did it. So, from now, post it as if you're talking to a media person..:)

Finally, the Big day for India A was up. India A looks good on paper but everyone in the team gathered together before 11 hours of scheduled start of the practice game.
It was a great pitch for batting and it was Australia, who won the toss and decided to bat first.
And India A's bowling was looking good with some speedsters like Balaji, Tyagi, Dinda, Binny.
The scorecard of Australia was looking something like this:-
Code:
Player Status Runs Blls 4s 6s S/R
David Warner lbw b. Binny 35 38 3 1 92.1%
Shane Watson lbw b. Binny 6 9 1 0 66.7%
Michael Hussey c. Goswami b. Tyagi 0 2 0 0 0.0%
Ben Rohrer lbw b. Balaji 38 35 2 1 108.6%
Andrew Symonds b. Jakati 46 55 3 1 83.6%
Tim Paine lbw b. Dinda 71 85 4 2 83.5%
James Hopes c. Sodhi b. Balaji 12 23 0 0 52.2%
Mitchell Johnson b. Balaji 1 2 0 0 50.0%
Brett Lee c. Suman b. Dinda 17 31 0 0 54.8%
Nathan Hauritz b. Jakati 16 16 1 0 100.0%
Peter Siddle not out 0 1 0 0 0.0%

Total: 251/10 Overs: 49.1 Run Rate: 5.02 Extras: 9

251 on excellent pitch was not bad but at the same time, Not good.
They had 5 balls to spear.
And the India A bowling even was a good one.
It looked something like this:-
Code:
Player Overs Mdns Runs Wkts E/R Wds NBs
Ashoke Dinda 7.1 0 33 2 4.60 0 0
Sudeep Tyagi 10.0 0 51 1 5.10 0 1
Reetender Sodhi 5.0 0 29 0 5.80 0 0
Stuart Binny 10.0 1 50 2 5.00 0 1
Shadab Jakati 10.0 0 55 2 5.50 2 1
Laxmipati Balaji 7.0 0 30 3 4.29 1 0

EXTRAS Wides: 3 No Balls: 3 Leg Byes: 2 Byes: 1
India A Need 252 runs to win from 300 balls.

It was surprising that Balaji came up as 6th bowler.
Overall, it was a great effort by Indian Bowlers. Restricting world no. 1 team to 251 on this excellent batting pitch.
Its a great chance to youngsters to prove themselves playing against internationally no.1 ranked team.
So, figure now on board is India A need 252 runs to win from their allotted 300 balls at slightly above 5 runs an over.

A good innings from Tim Paine there. Rohrer, Symonds and Warner all contributed as well. I feel Australia only has a par score on this pitch and can definately be chased down by the Indian A team if they don't lose many early wickets.
