Who will take the urn in the 2019 Ashes?

I think this test will be drawn. England just need to bat sensibly. The key will be to tire those quicks. Unlike the poms, the Aussies don't have a Stokes. I hope Paine uses Labuschagne on this track. He could be a handful on this deck with the ball!

Sometimes, I really think I could be a coach. :D

Tim is 100% a better captain than Smith :clap There, I said it!

Denly, Burns, A PROPER no.3, Root, Stokes, A PROPER batsman at 6, Buttler (wk), Woakes (one bad test doesn't mean you drop a world class all rounder), Curran, Leech and Archer.

Yes, I know Broad has done very well but this is the mistake England make time and again. The urn isn't coming back, see what Curran can do. Broad is a proven entity.

The aussies deserve a lot of credit for the way they came back after Headingley. I find it very hard to believe that we would have been capable of doing that.

So gutted what happened with Leach on that second day but unfortunately these freak things happen sometimes.

Get ready for Roots inane bullshit....

We showed character......

We showed we could fight.....

We got so close....

All credit to the Aussies....(they are definitely world-beaters, they must be to get us out)

We have to pick ourselves up....

Take the positives....
England captain Joe Root, speaking to TMS: "I'm bitterly disappointed. I thought the way we fought today, the character we showed, every single one of them can be proud of that today. To come so close to taking it to The Oval is hard to take. we've still got to look forward and make sure we level the series.

"I think its been a good Test wicket, an important toss to win, and we were not quite at our best in the first innings. We fought hard and bravely throughout the game, but we're in the position we are now."

Yup as expected the clichés are all in there.....what else can he say I suppose...

Who do you think should be brought in as those proper numbers 3 & 6,also what are your feelings about the captaincy. I have heard someone say the new coach could galvanise him but got serious doubts on that.

Personally I think it's some effort we took it this far when we had no Stone,Wood or Anderson to call on at all.

That is the part which makes me feel totally gutted but injuries happen, just unfortunately they all came at the wrong time.
