Story The Life and Times of Me [ICC2005]

A similair position in both tables after game 2 and although were not quite as high in the Totesport League due to Net Run Rate were level on points. Another convincing win and the season is shaping up nicely with a few big performers comming out of the woodwork for yet again, Freddie Flintoff, Muttiah Muralitharan and Bradley Hodge to name a few. If we carry on like this then we can be asured at least one top of the league place because in current form i cant see anyone beating us any time soon.... they may become the famous last words of our unbeaten record tomorrow but im going to say them anyway and stand by them. The lads are ready and raring to go against the Crusaiders and im predicting another win, although, i dont think it will be as convincing as the last two.

Another big performer not mentioned above has been Mark Chilton, he has really flourished in the three innings he has played and has grabbed three hundreds in that for just one dismissal. That is the kind of man you want captaining your team, someone who leads by example and what better example could have been set, you just have to look at the figures below, he beat his career best score with a 127* in the first match, then he scored another century, then an unbeaten Totesport century, he batted right through the inning and deserved to hit the winning runs. One thing is for sure, if he keeps batting like this then he could be in for some big money at the end of the season when the awards come out for Most Runs etc. He could also find his name in the history books as he is well on his way to chasing down the Most Runs in a Season, the record currently stands at 2633, scored by JT Tyldesley in 1901. Two matches in and he has scored over 300, were all behind you Mark!!!

The Middlesex Crusaiders are a tough team, make no bones about it, they have an future England Captain in their ranks and are very Dangerous. Andrew Strauss can be one of the most dominating openers in the world on his day, he goes about his business quitely and seems to reach 50 without you even noticing, they have a stronge squad and will be tough to beat on their home ground but im backing us to turn them over!

Really? You think Strauss will be future England captain? Or were you just saying that to make it look like a more difficult game so that when you win or lose you have excuses to either big up your team or show why you lost :p

it never affected him at Middlesex when he captained them
i know its 2 different things but he justs takes everything in stride and gets out and do the best he can

well yeh he captained middlesex when he was 25ish so he obviously can do it. he is a bit quiet though. (speaking of captains, you are needed in the derbyshire thread blaine!)

Lancashire overpowered Glamorgan in out first Totepsort match of the season at Old Trafford to make it two wins out of two for the season, they now travel to the home of cricket to face another toughie. Middlesex wont be a pushover today as Glamorgan werent a pushover last week, although the result reflected a steamrolling the batsmen had to work hard for their runs and some superb bowling and wickets at crucial points in the match kept the total down. I will be expecting another big performance today because we have been training hard all week and we are in good shape and going into the match with an unchanged team. We should really overpower them in the bowling department although we are on level terms with regards to batsmen.

(These stats show the careers performance, after this match they will show the current seasons)

The wheather forecast is mostly fine but with some clouds around, the last few hours should be really good weather for batting, the sun will be out. If we had won this toss we would have definately had a bowl because the pitch isnt going to much for our seamers and there would have been a bit more swing in the air, also we chased a good target pretty competently last week and would have felt confident doing the same here. As it stands we lost the toss and were put in to bat, we will be looking to get the run rate around about 4.5 an over which gives us a target of about 200. The track will aid the spinners a bit so Murali will hopefully be in the wickets after the pitch has worn a bit, should be another exciting match!

cant wait for the match to start intresting to see how Flintoff does on a pitch that is very poor for paceman

He normally does o.k on any pitch, we will have to wait and see what kind of total we can set before we know the extent to which he needs to bowl!
