Game 2 : England Vs Pakistan From The Oval

Rameez : Welcome to the Brit Oval for the second game of the Natwest Pentangular between England and Pakistan . England who lost the first game against India were feeling the heat to perform today but this time against another team from the subcontinent . They responded in grand style .
England put into bat by Inzamam Ul haq on a beauty of a batting pitch and England responded with a score of 281 for the second consecutive time . Geraint Jones struck a masterful 100 and he was ably supported by Trescothick who made 68 runs . The opening partnership was worth 139 runs and it really set the tone for the rest of the innings . Shoaib bowled well in his comeback game picking up a few good wickets and that should augur well for the future . Pakistan came out to bat needing 282 to win and as India showed , such big scores can be chased on good batting pitches at this time of the year in London . Shahid afridi was his usual self smashing 55 of 49 balls but unfortunately for Pakistan , he was the only man to make a substantial contribution . Salman Butt, Inzy,Youhana all got starts but threw it away and in the end , it was too much of an ask for the tail and they were bowled out for 210 in 42 overs . England picking up 5 valuable points and Pakistan with just a solitary point . Pakistan face India in th next game against a rampant India and we can expect a few fireworks at Birmingham with the larg asian commuty there as the Mother of All rivalries resumes !

----------------------------Post Match Press Conference------------------
Inzamam : I think 282 was chasable . We chased 316 against India last month . Wo Kya hai ki(What happened was) myself,Salman and Yousuf got starts and we could not capitalize . Flintoff bowled very good spell . Shahid batted well . Shoaib showed good rhythm with the bowl . We hope we can do well against India . Waise ye ek naya match hai . Unki team achcha khel rahi hai aur hamare ladke be form main hain . Ek achcha main samajhtha hoon ek kaante ka takkar hoga . (India have a good team and our boys are in great form . I think the match will be a cracker)

Vaughan : We got it right this time . Fortunately there was no Sachin Tendulkar around ! Geraint batted superbly and he and Marcus put us in a very strong position . In fact , I felt we were 20 runs short . Freddy,Steven,Giles and Gough all bowled well and th victory is a good one for us and has come at th right time !

MOM:: Graint Jones

Good win for India and England in their respective matches aditya. Very good coverage.

I would recommend you to use the six hit button along with the advance shot very rarely. This leads to more realistic and close matches! 282 off 28 overs doesnt sound realistic!

i actually found playing with Boss CGPV3 new version easy . I found the previous version too tough . I`ll try the Hardcoregameplay mode for the next match .
BTW , India have scored 200+ runs in around 23-24 overs on previos occassions !

The ESPN Samsung Cricket Show: Review of Games 1 and 2

Harsha Bhogle : Welcome to The Samsung Cricket Show on ESPN . Today , we are coming to you LIVE from the banks of the London`s beautiful Thames river .
Two games of the Natwest Pentangular have just concluded and we have had 3 teams out of 5 on view so far . Many of our Indian viewers might have been pleasantly surprised to see India as the best team on view so far though its very early days as yet but , India showing signs of coming back to the form of Natwest 2002 -Ravi !

Ravi Shastri : Definitely ! With Tendulkar back in form and attacking form as wll, the batting looks doubly potent . In the bowling , I feel India need to play a spinner just to lend a variety to the attack . If the batting clicks consistently, India are a serious threat to even Australia . The way they beat England ws heartening . To chase down a total of 282 in 28 overs and pick up a bonus point is outstanding . Looking forward to the next match against Pakistan at Birmingham , I feel it will be a low scoring game . If you remember the last time these two teams met at Birmingham in the ICC Trophy 2004 , we had a low scoring thriller won by Pakistan due to an Afridi special in the end. England did well to get back to form after the crushing defeat against India .

Harsha : Thank You Ravi . Meanwhile Australia and West Indies arrived at the Heathrow airport for their Natwest Pentangular campaign . We caught up with Ricky Ponting .Remember , we will have ricky ponting with us at ESPN throughout the series Here is what he said :

Ricky Ponting : Looking forward to the tournament . The first two games were interesting. India definitely were the best side on view so far .Sachin looks in dangerous form , does`nt he ! A long way to go still ! Hope to get a good start against Pakistan !

Harsha : That was Ricky Ponting looking confidnt as always and why not, when you lead a team like Australia . Thats it for now on the Samsung Cricket Show Natwest Pentangular Update.

May be, try Tutsi's 8.0 patch. But even with that, you have to reduce the advance down the wicket shots to provide more realism to your stories.

Game 3 : India Vs Pakistan , Preview Show , The Toss and the Pitch report

Taking Guard :::

Harsha Bhogle : Hello and welcome to Birmingham for Day 3 of th Natwest Pentangular . The match which is easily the most eagerly awaited one of the tournament -- India V Pakistan . With me are Sunil Gavaskar who looks nice and chirpy and with him is Waz (Wasim Akram) . Hello to both of you.

Sunil Gavaskar : A big day , today for all Indian and Pakistani fans . The Indo-Pak rivalry resumes today and that means a feast of cricket for all the fans who have arrived here early at Birmingham and also the T.V viewers all over th world . India will b looking to gain some ground on their rivals who have beat them at home . The Indians have got off to a terrific start to their Natwest campaign beating England by 5 wickets and also gaining a bonus point . Pakistan on th other hand got off to a rather disappointing start against England and they would be looking to get 5 points out of this game . We never know what to expect from Indo-Pak encounters and today will be no different but still I feel Pakistan have a psychological edge having beaten India at home

Wasim Akram : Hello to all our viewers . I do not agree with sunny bhai that Pakistan hav an edge because India look a totally different side now after the first game against England . Sachin bhi bada jabardast form main hai > I think i`ll give 55-45 chances to India .

Harsha : Surprisingly , we have had a Pakistani going for an Indian win and an Indian for a Pakistani win on this show . We`ll wait and see wht happens . As I speak Bob willis is ready with the toss and after the toss we`ll see what Ravi Shastri thinks about the pitch .

------------------------------PITCH REPORT------------------------------
Ravii Shastri : The conditions look bright and sunny for the mother of all battles here at birmingham . The atmosphere here is already absolutely electric and we can be rest assured to have a jam packed stadium for the match . Looking at the pitch, it looks a carbon copy of the ones we saw at The Oval and Lords which means the batsmen will enjoy batting on it . There will be surely some assistance for the bowlers with the new ball and the team which capitalizes will be the one which will come out on trumps . I still believe that the team winning the toss must bat first .
---------------------------------TOSS-----------------------------------
Bob Willis : I have the two captains , Inzy and Rahul and with them the match Refree Ranjan Madugalle . Its Rahul to toss the coin . Inzy calls heads and its tail .
RAhul, You have won the toss. What have you decided to do ?

Rahul Dravid : We will have a bat . Th wicket looks good and if we put up a score of 270-280 on the board, we can put them under pressure.

Bob : Any chnges from th last game ?
Rahul : Yes , Anil comes in place of Irfan who is out with a side strain .
Bob : All the Best .
Inzy , would you have chosen to bat as well
Inzamam : Yes , we also would (have) batted . Still the wicket will play the same . If we can restrict the scoring, we can still chase the target .

I would like to congratulate Sachin, Tresco and Gough for their 100s:p

Good luck! Looking forward to Sachin's 200 and a 400+ total from India...

The mother off all battles.. Pakistan vs India, can't wait to see the result for this epic encounter. Pakistan Zindabad

India in trouble ! 21/4 after 5 overs!

Harsha Bhogle : As we return to Star Sports for th continuing coverage of th Natwest Pentangular 2005 , its not a happy scorecard for the Indian viewers . India are in deep trouble at 21/4 and just 5 overs have been bowled . Dravid is still there with Yuvraj and they have a lot of work to do if they have to rescue their team from a position of utter hopelessness . It still is a good batting wicket though and if you look at the dismissals closely , all of them barring VVS Laxman have been gifted to Pakistan . Ravi, please take us through the dismissals !

Ravi shastri :
Sachin Tendulkar :First to go was Sachin Tendulkar . Very unfortunate . It was the nonstriker`s call and not a good one by Sehwag .

Virendar Sehwag : Again the same mistake and had to pay for it !
Mohammad Kaif : A poor shot under the circumstances . The hook shot played straight to Rana Naved . Sami getting th breakthrough .

VVS Laxman : A beauty by Sami . Yorked Laxman and also swung in late . There was nothing the batsman could do about it .

India have Dravid and Yuvraj at the crease an these two should set small targets . Thy must not look at the runrate . If they stay long enough , runs will come .
