The PlanetCricket Battrick Sledging Thread

ok, i made my debut against Voldy's brother team today... Batsmen looked very comfortable except for a horrible collapse from lower order with around 7-8 overs to spare!

209 was easily chased by opponent.. Though it was a friendly match, i am starting my battrick with a loss but none of my players were trained.. They played fresh though ;)

Just wanted to clear something up to do with training, is fielding more beneficial to concentration in comparison to wicket keeping or vice-versa or doesn't it really matter?

Fielding and wicket keeping have exactly the same effect on secondaries. But fielding is more useful to a non-wicketkeeper and the wages are less, so I'd always go for fielding.

However, you can use both fielding and wicketkeeping together to improve the alacrity at which secondaries pop.

Woohoo my first pop :)

What condition building do people usually use for their Acemedy? And how much of an effect does it have on the players?
Also, if you decided to bring up a player the age of 20, will he be noticiably better then a player that you bring up that's 17?

Mine is competent would improve it more but I don't have the cash plus not trying to get new players just yet.
The 20 old will be more mature but harder to train than a 17 year old.

Hmmm yeah, I'm thinking of just scrapping all the transfers and just making my team based on my acemedy.

After all it'd have no logic having all of these foreign players and being called the Sydney Superstars. :)

It's really hard to get a good player out of the academy plus you need a lot of ITS points to get a good player out. For me transfers are the best way to develop a player as you can get some as cheap as 1 grand, like those guys above I posted.

Better condition Youth Academy buildings just allow you to spend more ITS, you're just as likely to get a bad player at superb than competent.

And with age, the older they are the more ITS you can spend, which does mean you can go for a better player, but 17 is a great age for training, and 20 isn't really. 17 year old will train very quickly.

Heheh, absolutely no chance. If you even get 2 good players out of the Yuoth Academy in one season, you're very lucky. Its an absolute lottery...
