I didn't particularly like the most recent structure, to win it you had to field your strongest XI for all 3 matches, which due to fitness hits was not feasible for me. I ended up winning one match, then throwing the rest

There needs to be the opportunity to rest some of your better players and still have a chance of winning.

In larger leagues teams like mine, Assassins etc. will be able to pick up wins against the lesser sides, while both still being able to field full strength XIs against each other.

completely agree with ste thr....
it was really difficult to field the first XI in every match...

a league structure followed by a knockout stage towards the end of BT season would b ideal for me....

You're pulled out of it this year so why the sudden interest in it? We are still working on the Structure but it is likely to be divisions with possible knockout towards the end. We are still chopping and changing ideas and when we know we will tell everyone involved straight away.

Completely agree

Whole point of a friendly cup is to have a friendly most sundays. Straight knock outs from the start don't provide this. So some sort of league/group stage is a pre-requisite IMO

We are definetely having a league kind of stage. We just haven't decided how many divsions or groups we are going to have and whether we are going to have a long/short knockout at the end, or even have one at all. In my opinion I think we should have a knockout at the end but it's not solely my decision.

group of 4's is a good choice i think...
top 2 goes to a main knockout stage...
and bottom 2 goes to secondary knockout stage...

in group playing every team home and away will be good.... 6 weeks for tht...

if thr r 32 teams thn we will hav 8 groups of 4 teams each...
with 16 teams qualifying for KO stage... and playing for 4 more weeks to find the winner...

thts a total of 10 weeks...

If a big team like you struggles with pfl why can i field a fully fit top xi each sunday??

You need to learn to manage your games

That's a great idea. I'll raise it to the other organisers and see what they think about it. :cheers

He needs his full XI for OD and FC games. He doesn't have that many bots or weak teams.

Actually there are two teams i can beat without fielding my full strength side. in FC, however i play them back to back, so while i have one long time to recover PFL It will slowly decreases as the season wears on.

OD has 2 really good bots that i can rest a few players in, but it's still quite risky and one or two teams i need to be at full strength to beat.

I'm eschewing OD in favour of FC this season

Griffo's team at full strength would struggle to avoid relegation in both formats (could get 4th in my OD league if he throws FC) Whereas I'm fairly confident I'd crush his leagues.

Often times at full strength i wouldn't beat Zain's or his brother's side. So I'd field a weaker side with no hope of winning so i could do well in FC/OD that week.

I think the 4 team groups would only work if they were seeded or a random draw. They couldn't be like the most recent PC leagues.

So far it seems we will be following a Champions League kind of competition. Groups of 4(seeded) with top 2 going into knockout tournament to eventually decide the winner, with random draws after the group stages. At the other end the bottom two go into another tournament to decide the 'best of the rest', also having random draws after the group stages.

Just an idea.
