The PlanetCricket Battrick Sledging Thread

Ok im working on the final ladders and the final round fixtures will be up soon

It will be 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th all the way down to 31st v 32nd so everyone finished with a place, the home team will be the team that finished the highest as they have earnt the right to host the final... remembering promotion/demotion will happen once again so if you lost all 3 games you will go down but have a home final, promoters will have an away final

Please note im using net run rate for teams in a three way tie, teams in a two way tie will have the winner of the fixture between the two teams promote

17th v 18th Playoff
The Southern Sharks v HuntingTigers

Griffo, I would prefer playing this match at my ground.... Are you sure, you will get around 12K when I play you there in your ground? We should only be cunning enough to utilize the gate receipts provided by BT.. money in form of any source who will refuse to accept? ;)

When I played the friendly game last time at my ground,

18/01/2009 Played a match and received ?11,726 in gate receipts.

When I played Jaz last week, I got 7K... So, we(both myself and Jaz) are going to be loosers of that 4K+ ... I am sure it will be 11K+ because my member confidence is still over the moon.:)

Surendar, Griffo will have the home advantage as he demoted and is in a higher position than you. Like all the other fixtures, the higher placed team has the home advantage.

Ya ya i am aware of those things because Griffo has already told about this... But my question is, why should we loose that 4K+ when BT is ready to offer us?

Friendly receipts are generally less right? In that less amount, is it wrong to utilize the max! :onpc

Anyways no worries.. it's just a thing to think so that we are clever enough to maximize the profit BT give us. :) other than that nothing against our competition rules.

hmmm ok in another few hours, if i change the pitch from green to uneven, then will it be changed by Sunday? :)

Challenge made.

I fancied a decent run in BT20, but I'd have to GFI tomorrow and I'd be ruined pf-wise for the finals match against Assasains so I'm throwing tomorrow's fixture. I can't take any risks in trying to secure a 100% record for the season.

Suren, I get your point, but when I look at my finances each week unless im already in the black, 3-9k loss from a friendly will hardly make a difference to my finances. For the small teams it holds true though, but then they don't get to play against big teams.

I'm a bit confused about the structure of the finals - I know I lost the top division (unsurprisingly) but why am I competing for 5th when a team I beat in the last round are going for 4th? Had I deliberately lost last time and one this one the tables would be turned.

Actually that's a good point. Shouldn't I be playing AP and Aamir's Rockers playing Version Java Kings? Me (first) playing last in above division. And Aamir (second) playing second last in the division above?

Its unavoidable when you have even numbered groups..

They dunce that realised the only was to get the maximum amount of games from the amount of friendlys left would be to have groups of 4 as groups of 5 would leave a team with a bye and drag out each round too far to fit in the schedule
