The PlanetCricket Battrick Sledging Thread

Woo, just snuck into 4th position. I tell you what, if they want to deter camping, they could make these end of season prizes a bit more enticing.

Anyone (apart from Tom and the reasonably good people) fancy a friendly this weekend?

:happy Just calculated who my play-off match is against. This guy http://www.battrick.org/nl/office.asp?userID=7951 I should easily beat him, even with Manders busy out in Australia with the Under 19 cup.

Looking through III.2 it appears to have 3 teams which I don't stand a chance against, but I should be able to cope with the rest of them, as long as no monster's suddenly appear there.

Crap, wasn't on over Christmas so my terrible 2nd XI played in FC which meant I finished last by 1 point and means I'm relegated. :(

Had the wulfs 16/3 but Ludlam and Earle have fought back to 132-3 off 35 overs.

Need my seamers to take a wicket or two now, otherwise they could easily put on 80-100 in the last 10 off my spinners. Although their current RR is <4, and I'd back myself to chase 200 or so.

What do you think is a par score?

Hard to say.

You look set to post around 230-240 from here, considering it's Hard and Fast it seems a little low, but with the weather early wickets are the key. But with the weather and bowling attacks it's not that far short of par, maybe 20 or so short, which isn't much.

It's certainly competitive.

Not sure if I like my batting order today, if you get early wickets I could struggle to rebuild, but Harbin and Pollock have performed in OD all season so they should be okay.

And that's the end of the match. Verizon Java Kings won by 8 wickets.
Tassie Titans 296-3
Verizon Java Kings 299-2

Munich still continues to remain a fortress for The VJK, really thought the Titans would take this one and it was a very intense game, just had a feeling we left it a little too late but Janes impressed me and in the end did the doing.

End of Over 11: 48-0, runrate=4.36, reqrunrate=4.95 (240-4)
Duncan 6-2-21-0
Pollock* 23 (35 balls)
Harbin 21 (32 balls)

A good solid start. Should be favourites now but need to see off 4 more duncan overs,

You aren't looking too bad. You've seen off Ludlam who, for me is the bowler to be wary of. I don't think that the last 10 went as well as you would've liked, but having only lost the 1 wicket so far the score doesn't look out of reach yet.

I used to have my last two best bowlers on for the last 10, spinners, on more often than not dusty pitches, and cause many a last 10 collapse, that has changed now, spinners are less effective there/my bowling attack has developed, no more Mampe and Dlomo, two lesser spinners (well Kirkland isn't that much less than mampe, if at all) and collapses occur far less often, last 10s, with wickets in hand always cost me that much. Need to improve on that to stand a chance in III next season. May shift maclagan to the middle overs and have hunt at the death, as I like having Harris bowl 7 up front.

And that's the end of the match. Tom Jones Enthusiasts won by 6 wickets.
Old Wulfs 240-4
Tom Jones Enthusiasts 243-4

Wickets tumbled just before the last 10, 3 in quick succession, but my last proper partnership (respectable+ the tail to come in) knocked off about 40 runs to win the match.

Hard to say what par was looking at my score, if Harris and COx batted out up to another 40 odd runs, (I think they slowed down as they closed in on the target) but after one more wicket it'd have been only about 15 more, at best.

Good game.
