First Innings:
Mayank Agarwal and Tillekaratne Dilshan gave Royal Challengers a brisk start, who scored 85 runs in the first ten overs. Bowlers remained breakthrough-less,but Kieron Pollard, the big name picked up Mayank Agarwal, who seemed to get even more aggressive. Mayank Agarwal tried to play a straight drive couldn't judge the ball properly. The ball hit his pads, which were the only obstruction from the ball hitting wickets. In simple words, it was a plumb infront of the wickets. Umpire din't delay anymore as he finished his formalities by signalling the batsman out. Then, Kohli walked in. Both Kohli and Dilshan maintained the run rate, by adding around 9 an over in an average. They added 40 runs in just 26 balls. The twenty seventh ball was a confusion affair, where Kohli and Dilshan ran for a single, Kohli, trying for a second one, din't touch the crease when he was running. On the other hand, Dillu, who was happy with single, had to rush up to the other one, as Kohli took the second one. Thanks to Pollards misfield at mid on. But, Dillu couldn't make it before the ball and ball eventually won the battle as it was a direct hit from Kieron Pollard from mid on. The umpire referred to third umpire, the decision was "
OUT". Then, a tsunami named "AB de Villiers" arrived into the square. The first and the foremost ball was punished badly for a boundary over extra covers. The ball went like a 'bullet'. Then, Virat Kohli started firing. He scored 3 consecutive boundaries followed by a huge six over long on. The stadium being a very small one, the ball went out side the stands. A new ball was bought in. He scored another boundary as he hooked the ball. Andrew Symonds, was hammered badly in his very first over, as he gave away a six a couple of boundaries. He made the patch work to his figures by picking up Kohli in the last ball. He delivered a quick one, which inside edged the Kohli's NIKE willow. The ball hit the stumps directly and Kohli was walking! de Villiers, who was in top notch in the last game, continued his similar form. He kept the strike for himself, keeping Asad Pathan in the other end. He took quick two's and singles, which kept the scoreboard ticking at 8-10 an over, without any boundaries. Asad Pathan, who scored a boundary, beating the fielder at long on, got out trying for a huge six. The ball was set so high in the air, but the problem was the distance. It seemed as if it carried the distance, but Pollard took a beautiful catch deep square leg. Cheteshwar Pujara kept AB de Villiers on strike as he was in top form. Finally, when there was last three balls, AB de Villiers broke out! He scored a boundary by placing the ball between deep cover and deep extra cover. Tendulkar, who was absolutely frustated, couldn't do anything else except clapping the batsman, who played a beautiful shot, which had perfect timing and placement. Very next ball was chipped into the air towards long on, just clearing the fielder at mid on. It was a fast out field, and as the fielder at mid on, Rohit Sharma fell down, and the fielder at deep mid wicket couldn't reach in time, the ball won the race as it hit the boundary. And to end up in top notch & adding salt to injury, de Villiers punished the bowler for a huge six, the biggest ever in the history of Cricket. The ball ball was flicked off the leg, and no one could stop it! The ball went whooping 160.2 meters! The sweet timing and perfect flick resulted in the creation of a new record, of hitting the longest six even in T20 cricket. Mumbai Indians had a sore party though, as the bowlers, excepting Lasith Malinga turned out to be absolute garbage in terms of economy. Symonds picked up two crucial ones, and Pollard had one wicket and one direct hit to his name.
Mumbai Indians need 190 runs to win from 120 balls was what the LED screen was displaying.
Second Innings:
Sachin and Jacobs walked in, chasing a big target of 190. Abhimanyu Mithun started off well, by giving off an economical over of just 4 runs. Zaheer Khan, the one who took up the charges from Mithun, delivered a breakthrough as he picked up Davvy Jacobs. Jacobs, trying to push the ball for a four, misjudged the ball and the leg stump got uprooted as it was hit by the ball. In the very next over, trying for a definite dot ball, Rayudu got run out, as Zaheer Khan threw the ball from short fine leg. Rayudu, who started running without noticing the fielder out there, was sent back by Tendulkar. Zaheer threw it directly onto the stumps. The umpire din't even refer to third umpire, as the batsman was not in the picture, when the stumps were broken. Kieron Pollard and Sachin Tendulkar played sensible cricket for sometime. Pollard exploded with continual boundaries in 12th over, as the pressure was getting on and on cause the required runrate was going up above 10. He took the single off the last ball and kept the strike. Dilshan stuck the very next ball, stopping the Pollard' boundaries show. Rohit Sharma Walked in. The Mumbai duo Sachin tendulkar and Rohit Sharma, who won a match for India on Aussie soil, managed to stay just for an over. Tendulkar, trying to increase their runrate, gave his wicket away to his former teammate and national team mate, Zaheer Khan. trying to loft up the ball, Master couldn't place well as the ball was a quicker one. Daniel Vettori completed the other formalities of taking the catch safely. Symonds and Rohit Sharma played for three overs, but they managed to keep their wicket. They couldn't score according to what required run rate demanded, which meant that the required rate went beyond 36 right in mid 19th over. Andrew Symonds tried for a suicidal run, but he dived too early, and couldn't make it in time. Rajgopal Satish, who came in at 7, got out on the very first ball. Nannes bowled a perfect yorker at whooping 153.5 KMPH and it was just too much for a local batsman like Satish. The off stump just broke, as soon as the ball hit it. The stump was replaced within the Turbanator, the Bhajji walked in. Harbhajan managed to defend the balls successfully, without scoring anything as the bowling was just top class. They ended up scoring 145 for the loss of 6 wickets, which meant
Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 44 runs.
