The wishlist thread

The reason why I say that statistical tracking is the most important feature of a cricket game is that it gives the game meaning and purpose. You want to keep playing it; the game is now dynamic and changing for you.

What makes sport special for me is the *story*. Rivalries, underdogs performing above their station, human achievement. It's a really hard thing to reflect in a game (yet the "fist-pumping" thread shows it can happen!).

Stats could well be a way to help get this over: good thoughts.

Perhaps there's something in the "star" ratings system (in C09) whereby, when a particular team plays a particular rival (I'm thinking Australia vs. New Zealand) the "underdog" (New Zealand) gets an additional feature (special delivery for a bowler or shot for a batsman) that gives them a better chance at winning?

I'm thinking it would work for specific rivals like England/Australia, India/Pakistan etc? Not sure what that special feature could be, maybe it's a simple thing like "Fielders are more likely to stop boundaries, field better" or more active in the field? It's like you rig the coding a little so if catches are help 70% of the time when fielding, when you play a specific rival they're held 90% of the time? Or it's just a simple case of the matches being "closer" so AI bowlers are more likely to take wickets and score more runs against a specific rival?

Not sure... trying to think outside of the box...

...and lets quit talking about junk like "MOAR BATz" and "MOAR GANGNAm" celebration crap. We wan't a GOOD CRICKET GAME, the rest of the stuff can be done AFTER with modding, or DLC (ala, the "Celebrations" DLC where you can buy stupid gimmick s&#t that players do after scoring a 50 that they'll regret 2 years later when the match is replayed ad-nauseum)

Those individual DLC celebrations will cost $1.99 each, and you'll only be able to do one before you have to wait two hours whilst the batsman's "flava" level replenishes.

Games design 101.

Butseriouslyfolks, every single thing you suggest goes on a priority list alongside a HUGE list that we generate, knock around and add to every day (seagulls at WACA, fireworks for T20, buses going past London grounds, etc, etc). They each have a number which represents value for the game, versus resource that we have to make it.
I wouldn't want anyone to hold back on ANY suggestions: they're incredibly useful. Some will fall lower on the list than others, but all of them deserve to be there.

...then make sure "Cheerleaders at T20 Games in India with the % of exposed skin decreasing according to how conservative (or not) the IPL team owner is" is high on your list.

That's my suggestion...

Well obviously that's already top. What else you got?

What else you got?

...a "mini-game" feature where your player can text the opponents before the match dirty secrets and has to get dropped from the team, then you are forced into a quicktime event to "rehabilitate" the player timing button-presses and puzzle-answers during a sit down with team management where you essentially bulls%$t your way back into the team?

*Pushes cheerleaders down to number two*

what i really want is a very very competitive online
dunno about others but still however good AI u make there can still be loopholes
otherwise also playing against a human opponent in sports game is far better
just look at making gameplay more and more realistic
i think most can get away with other features like names, cheerleaders etc

in online you should have different difficulty levels + online save
i think IC10 was a big failure coz of broken online

also action cam in IC10 was awesome but again in online we never knew if opponent is using that or not which made it a fail in online

In all seriousness, there NEEDS to be an easter-egg in the game whereby you can litter the WACA with seagulls and after any given shot, there's just corpses of dead gulls everywhere...

....My suggestions are the best

A couple of points:

Dynamic Crowd: Visually whatsoever, audio wise their response to the play must enhance the atmosphere. Loud Cheers, whistles, drums, bottles, etc. We want someone to appreciate our play dont we? Note: England Crowd does no more than clap but it still creates a great distinguished atmosphere.

Commentary: Responsive to the play alright, I hope they could recognise milestones and appreciate that too.

Let's see what more can be on this game:
1. Awesome, realistic gameplay.
2. Easy to mod and edit. We don't really need license if we can just mod it...
3. A Virtual Pro type something
4. A Practice Arena that actually teaches you something
5. Be A Pro mode.
6. Career Mode/ICC Cricket World (Similar to WWE Universe) that goes on endlessly
7. ONLINE MODE AND LAN PLAY
:thumbs

Now that needs to be noted.

Online multiplayer would be much more fun if everyone would create their own custom teams. Something like FIFA's ULTIMATE TEAM MODE. It'd be fun, signing more professional players as you earn points by winning matches and all. It'll definitely make things far more interesting.

@SiriusBlack

That's a really good suggestion, manual celebrations like Fifa would be amazing. That also gave me idea of manual appeal, it'd be awesome, wouldn't it?

I can't think of any time in the game where you actually had to appeal manually to get a wicket - so effectively it was just a 'Howzat!' button.
