I am confused. Big bash, AUS-NZ, Ind-AUS ...all in December ??? Did BCCI help CA with scheduling :lol I hope NZ drain aussies with some draws....so India can come and win easily:clap

Yes....:( I believe CA wants the Test stars to make themselves available for the first Big Bash game, trying to squeeze it in between the 2nd NZ Test and the first India Test. I don't like it...

Might as well have the "Test stars" play BBL and have a proper team train for the Test series.

Well Australia A should still be chock full of blue baggers. The article/Shipperd mentions 31 players there of which 8 are from NSW. No mention of Steve Smith or Simon Katich either, who could potentially feature as well.

I think I'd go for a bit of a mix of old and new. Something like:
1 David Warner
2 Nic Maddinson
3 Usman Khawaja
4 Adam Voges
5 David Hussey
6 Mitchell Marsh
7 Matthew Wade (+)
8 Ben Cutting
9 Ben Hilfenhaus
10 Michael Beer
11 James Pattinson

Although thinking about it, Cummins and Copeland could probably use a bowl too after not doing much on this current tour.

WA are playing Marsh as a bowler atm so wouldn't have him at 6. And his results so far have him going in that direction. Maxwell looks more like the all rounder you want but of course we'll probably see Smith there.

Michael Beer shouldn't be their. Steve O'Keefe should be instead.

Starc over Cutting as well.

Swap 6 and 7 around in the order. Marsh's form with the bat is nowhere in sight. He's in the wickets up to his neck though, so certainly worth having in the side.

No Nannes?? :p Anyway, I'd rather reward guys who have at least taken some wickets. O'Keefe hasn't done much this season, and Starc's been OK but Cutting's up near the top of the wickets tally, has always had potential and I'd like to see what he's got.

And yes the batting order was a little bit rough, Pattinson's not a #11 either :p

And Maxwell's gotta be a shot at the ODI squad in the near future. He could replace David Hussey's role of lower order hitter and spinner who can bowl a few overs - and yes he'll spin the ball the opposite way to Doherty, which means he's actually get used unlike Smith...

He's been pretty quiet in the OD arena so far, ideally he would be the perfect fit for the side though. ATM I would go with Mitch Marsh whose bowling is becoming really handy and his batting at the top level has been good.

Did I see the Kiwi squad named the other day?

Answer: YES! What excitement!!
New Zealand news: Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee back to face Australia | Cricket News | Australia v New Zealand | ESPN Cricinfo
Squad: Ross Taylor (capt), Trent Boult, Doug Bracewell, Dean Brownlie, Martin Guptill, Chris Martin, Brendon McCullum, Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee, Daniel Vettori, BJ Watling, Kane Williamson, Reece Young.

There's a few names there I haven't seen yet. Hopefully they aren't too good :p

Young Dan Vettori is supposed to be some kind of hotshot, but what I've seen hasn't impressed me much.

Not a bad Kiwi squad, their batting lineup is starting to get stronger. Southee and Vettori love playing us so down to how Bracewell will cope.

He might not even play, if Boult outplays him in the warm-up.

I'd like to see us play all four pace bowlers and Vettori, but they've already said that that's not going to happen.
