Transmission Closes Down

Just from what I have heard from the mods at PC

ohh yeah...the mods....how could i doubt their opinions ! :sarcasm.

i dont know about the rest of india, but in mumbai atleast it was selling
hot and fast !

We are talking about HOE flopping coupled with AC09 massive piracy in India. The two put together probably was a large financial dent.

Just from what I have heard from the mods at PC. Also DarkBoyBlunder mentioned how piracy was seriously hampering the profits on the PC version.

But I got a different notion after talking to employees of shops like M-World, Planet M etc where the game is available (in Kolkata). Visit these shops quite frequently.

Yes but for every 1 honest guy that buys it think of how many download it. Especially peple living in smaller cities where it is not available in the shops.

Guys, these big companies (Codies) would have had targets they had to reach - massive targets - for it to be deemed successful. Don't be naive. I'm sure they did sell heaps, but was it enough? We're talking a lot of units here that needed to be sold. TG was pretty big, but a games company needs constant projects coming in to keep money churning over. It was reported that they lost several big tenders which would have hurt them bad.

Certainly a shame as AC09 did have potential long term....

And as for pirates, that just sux. But i'm guessing a lot of their sales would have been from Xbox and PS3 don't forget. Still, however you look at it, it certainly is a shock. Didn't see it coming i have to say.

yes surelly lot of people downloaded it from pirot bay etc etc. but the thing is all the games are being downloaded like that. even with that Ashes was a hit and hot seller.. maybe they lost on other projects.. it cant be ashes for sure

people in the smaller cities dont even have the speed nor the knowledge to download it off the net.

how much desperate do you really have to be to download a game when your getting less than 25 kb/s !

Download is not an option everyone has in India.

Its not pirating but my friend downloading the FM10 demo via torrents with at 6 KB/s. He downloaded the Strawberry version which was the larger file from the FM10 variants.

Thats how desperate people can get and that was only a demo.

cant we get any inside on this.. admin? robb?

This will be NDA'd up the arse as far as Rob is concerned, I am sure he will come and give us a generalized and vague statement. He probably will not be at liberty to give us any juicy details.

Not every dl = lost sale, many just would not of bought AC09 if they could not dl it. It's a common mistake made by people when talking about pirates. Of course this doesn't excuse them, but exaggerations annoy me.

Besides if they think AC09 was bad, Activision are going to have a heart attack when MF2 comes out.

yeah...but thats not the case here. people dont know from where to download them. heck , most of the people who use internet dont even know whats
"seeders" and "leechers" !

here, they prefer to shell 100Rs or less for a pirated version than wait for days downloading it.
