Reaction
Absolutely fantastic. Afridi's hat-trick started us well in the first innings and our bowlers dominate the batting order. Strauss, Pietersen and Trescothick the only batsmen to score decently. Then came our batting which was very good indeed. 3 partnerships of 72 or more sums up how well we did. We were 7/1 at the start though as Moin Khan got caught for 2. Inzi and Khan then put on 72 before Inzi went for 35. Yousuf came and went, as did Nisar who had a partnership of 72 with Khan although Nisar only got 29 runs in the partnership. Then came the partnership of Alam and Khan which didn't last long as Khan got bowled for 126 off 232 by Giles. Alam and Afridi then put on the biggest partnership of 95 before Afridi went for 50 runs exactly. Then there was a few little partnerships as Alam fell for 103 as the ninth wicket. Brilliant by him. Then came the brilliant bowling again as Afridi destroys as per usual. 6-40 his figures even though there was a run out of his bowling as well. Trescothick and Flintoff made 48, which was their highest score in the first innings... Afridi got man of the match, something he thoroughly deserved for his match figures of 12-86 and a nice 50 off 63 balls. Superb performance.
