Q.P.R. and Scunthorpe fight for a draw​

Queens Park Rangers and Scunthorpe shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller at Loftus Road this afternoon in the pick of today?s Championship games. A last-minute goal from Jack Cork cancelled out the only other second-half goal from Dexter Blackstock. Man-of-the-match Bradley Wright-Phillips opened the scoring after only 2 minutes, only to see Danny Cullip cancel out his goal. Paul Hayes restored Scunthorpe?s lead, again for QPR to equalize, with Martin Rowlands getting the goal this time around.

Elsewhere, the Blackpool-Cardiff game finished goalless, as did the late Colchester-Ipswich game.

A 62nd minute strike from Darren Ambrose was not enough to rally his Charlton teammates, as they went down 2-1 at The Valley against Coventry.

Two goals from Stephen Clemence was not enough to steer Leicester to victory, as a hat-trick from Dougie Freedman saw Palace win. Meanwhile, Norwich beat Hull City 2-1 with goalie David Marshall putting in a tremendous performance, allowing Darren Huckerby to score a 54th minute winner.

Another six-goal game saw West Brom beat Stoke City 4-2 in a fiercely contested game, with Chris Brunt running the show, bagging himself a goal in the process.

Preston and Burnley beat Sheffield United and Wednesday respectively, and Watford continued to dominate, seeing off Bristol City 3-0.

Southampton beat Barnsley 2-0, who had Ferenczi sent off, and Wolves beat Plymouth 3-1, with Stephen Elliot scoring twice.

Teague ?gutted? as Leicester win​

Jack Teague declared himself to be ?gutted? after seeing his Bristol City lose at the hands of Leicester. Iain Hume opened the scoring, before Christie and Byfield gave Bristol the lead. Highly-rated James Wesolowski scored his first goal for Leicester after a brilliant pass from Hume, who then scored a penalty to seal the win for the Foxes.

Teague said after the game: ?It was a hard game to have lost, and frankly, I?m a bit gutted.
?I won?t say we dominated, because we didn?t, but having led during the game, I would have liked to be standing here with at least a point. At the end of the day, we will move on from this, and work hard in training ready for the next game.?

Indeed, Bristol didn?t win a single corner throughout the game, and it was Leicester who looked the more likely to win.

Leicester boss Gary Megson was ?very pleased with the result, but concerned we conceded twice. We will be working hard in preparation for Coventry.?

West Brom brush past 9-man Bristol City

West Bromich Albion 3-1 Bristol City

Robert Koren opened the scoring​

West Bromich Albion secured their fourth home win of the season beating a lacklustre Bristol City 3-1. Goals from Robert Koren, Craig Beattie and Sherjill MacDonald gave West Brom all 3 points, but it was red cards that masked what could have been a close game. Both Ivan Sproule and Lee Johnson were sent off in the second half, with the score at 2-1.

Robert Koren opened the scoring for the home side on 20 minutes. His superb right footed volley found the bottom corner from Beattie's cross.

Bristol City did, however, pull one back on 38 minutes. Orr's drilled cross made it's way across West Brom's back line and found an unmarked Michael McIndoe, who calmly slotted the ball underneath Kiely.

After half-time West Brom took the lead once again, this time Beattie the scorer. Koren's cross was met by the head of MacDonald who forced basso into a diving stop. The ball bounced out and Beattie reacted quickest to send his side into the lead.

The next 5 minutes saw Bristol City lose two midfielders from straight red cards and go 3-1 down. Sproule was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Jonathan Greening before Johnson hacked down West Brom defender Tininho with two feet.

Between the two sendings off West Brom sealed the victory. MacDonald latched onto Basso's poor kick and curled the ball inside the near post from 16 yards.

Tony Mowbray told the press in the post-match interview that he was delighted with the way his side were clinical in front of goal. "We were great today. Our finishing was clinical and we created plenty of chances. We looked dangerous throughout and that was a credit to the way we kept the ball."

Bristol City manager Jack Teague refused to comment on the game in the post-match interview, which may see a reprimand from the FA.

Ipswich slump to yet another defeat

Plymouth 1-0 Ipswich

Ebanks-Blake scored the only goal of the game​

Plymouth continued to pile misery onto new Ipswich boss Ben Manning as they came out 1-0 victors at Home Park. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake scored the winning goal in the first half, in a game which they dominated from the very start.

The winner came on the stroke of half time thanks to a superb solo effort from Ebanks-Blake. His turn left the Ipswich defence wide open and he slotted the ball past Alexander in the Ipswich goal.

Seyfo Soley picked up a second yellow card in the second half to leave Ipswich with 10-men for 20 minutes.

Plymouth striker Deon Burton limped off with a leg injury in the first half, but it appears to be just a minor injury that will keep him out for a couple of days.

Ian Holloway was chuffed with the victory and vowed to try and keep some consistency from now on. "We outplayed Ipswich today in every compartment. We created a load of chances and we managed to put one of them in the back of the net.

"Consistency is a key part of football, and we are very inconsistent at the moment. We will rectify that and hopefully rack up a few good results over the next few weeks."

Ipswich boss Ben Manning didn't have much to say about his side's performance. "We were poor again. We didn't create a lot and we let them have chances. We will continue to lose if we do not focus and get our mind on winning. Simple as that really. There's not a lot I can do if the boys aren't playing to their full potential."

I would, but I have no patience when it comes to it. Plus, it's depressing seeing how far down the league we are.

I'd love to be able to tell you it gets better, but as far as we've played, it doesn't.

Bristol City waste chances in 0-0 draw

Bristol City 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

McIndoe missed an early penalty​

Bristol City missed the chance to win their first match in 7 games after drawing 0-0 with Sheffield Wednesday. Bristol City created most of the chances in the game, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Michael McIndoe missed the best chance of the game, he had his penalty saved by Lee Grant, who also saved the follow-up, in just the 3rd minute of the match.

The best chance of the game for Sheffield Wednesday was from a Richard Hinds long range effort that was tipped over the bar by Adriano Basso.

Bristol City manager Jack Teague told the press that his team could not afford to miss the sort of chances they had tonight. "Well we really should have won that. These sort of games are the ones we need to pick up three points from. We can't afford to miss chances in this division."
