England 139/5 - DOWN AND OUT!! Micheal Vaughan 33
A.Flintoff 26
K.Pietersen 24* (20)
A.Kumble 1/24 (5)
Some brilliant fielding by the Indian fielders today has pushed England really backward today. Though England are scoring at a very good rate, they have lost 5 wickets and ars staring defeat in the final of this tournament. India who have dominated this series so far, look to run away with this cup. First to go was Micheal Vaughan who charged down the wicket and was stumped by Dhoni off Kumble for 33
Flintoff and Pietersen staged a good partnership before Murali Kartik bowled a wide ball and Flintoff danced down the track and the ball took the edge of his bat and Dhoni caught him and stumped Flintoff. But the scorecard registered it as a stumping though it was a caught behind decision. Flintoff was out for 26 and with it, England's chances of winning the game started drowning down the water!
Pietersen right now is fighting a lone and an almost vain battle. Accompanying him in the middle is Paul Collingwood. They very well know that this is the last recognised pair for England and the tail follows after this. India right now need only one more wicket to shut out England from this match.

Pietersen and Collingwood bring England back into the match! K.Pietersen 53* (57)
P.Collingwood 25* (33)
England have roared back into this match with some very aggressive batting from their premier batsmen, Pietersen and Collingwood. They were 139/5 after 25 overs but they have scored 62 runs off the next 10 overs to give themselves a sniff of a victory chance here. Pietersen has reached his half century and is still going strong here. England need 107 more runs to win off 14 overs at 7.57 per over
Collingwood who started off slowly gradually built up momentum and played some wonderful shots. Murali Kartik was the worst affected victim by these two batsmen as he was carted around the park. Ashish Nehra also came in for some special treatment as these batsmen look to fight it out for England.
Pietersen sets Wellington on fire - 71 off 60 balls needed!
K.Pietersen 80* (74)
P.Collingwood 42* (62)
Kevin Pietersen has set Wellington on fire with some brutal batting. He along with Collingwood has brought down the required rate to 71 runs needed off 60 balls. Murali Kartik has been punished severely that this might be his last match. Pietersen took Kartik to task hitting him for four fours off consecutive balls scoring 19 runs off that over. Collingwood too joined the fun, hitting Kartik for a lofted shot for two fours.
England need 71 runs off 60 balls, India badly need the wicket of Pietersen and/or Collingwood. If both are unseperated until the 45th over, we might see England run away with the trophy!
More tense moments - England need 57 off 43 balls!
England need 57 off 43 balls - Tense moments! K.Pietersen 87* (84)
P.Collingwood 43*
People normally enjoy a tense nail biting match even if its in the league section. But a tense nail biting match that determines the winner of the tournament is more so exciting. And that is what is happening at the Wellington cricket ground with England coming back superbly in the fray but India also not letting up with some very tight overs. England, who had a required run rate of 7.1 runs have now let it rise to over 8 runs per over. The required run rate is now 8.14 runs per over. Pietersen is slowing down in search of his first hundred this series and Collingwood is in the reach of his 50. India are happy as long as they give only singles.
57 off 42 balls! Will England pull off a sensational win here? Will Pietersen reach his century? Time will certainly tell. The drama is unfolding here! Do not go away or you'll miss the action!
This is getting similar to the Natwest Trophy final 2002 with the only change here that it is England in place of India chasing a 300+ total and are periliously close. Will England replicate India's feat in 2002?
40 to win off 30 balls! Pietersen scores century!
K.Pietersen 100* (90)
WHAT AN INNINGS?? Absoutely amazing. One that could have the potential to spring a miracle for the English side. Pietersen has scored an amazing hundred and has brought the English side within striking distance of a stunning victory here at Wellington. His hundred has come at over run a ball and he is currently hitting the Indian bowlers to dust here at Wellington. And he has wonderful support at the other end from none other than Paul Collingwood.
40 runs to win off 30 balls at exactly 8 runs per over! Certainly, now it looks like England might pull this off. India, they have truly slipped this up!
33 runs to win off 24 balls! - Tight over from Khan!
A tight over from Khan as the run rate increases. England now need 33 runs to win off 24 balls at 8.25 runs an over. Paul Collingwood has reached his half century and is not out on 52* off 59 deliveries.
27 runs to win from 24 balls - 9 runs per over needed!
Ganguly has given Sehwag the ball as Sehwag bowled another tight over to increase the England required rate to a further 9 runs per over. Pietersen is not out on 107* off 100 balls and Collingwood is not out on 52*. 27 off 18 balls!!! Khan has 1 more over, Kumble has an over and Sehwag has a few overs.
Fruitful 10 run over for England - 17 to win off 12 balls!
A surprising decision by Ganguly to bowl Tendulkar as Collingwood crashed Tendulkar for two consecutive fours. But Tendulkar bowled 4 tighter balls to not allow Collingwood to run away with the match. 17 to win off 12 balls. Kumble and Khan have an over each remaining. India seem to be losing their mental battle here against England. According to the current situation, England look safe for the Adidas Trophy!
2 runs to win off 6 balls! Pietersen smashing 122!
Pietersen has almost finished this match for England with a superb display of hitting. But Kumble had the last laugh when Kumble had Pietersen caught at deep mid off boundary. But by then, it was too late for India as England now need only 2 runs to win off the last over. Collingwood was out stumped by Dhoni off Kumble and Pietersen was out caught. Kumble finishes with 3 wickets! Giles and Ali are going to face the final over from Zaheer Khan.
