West Indies in Australia

I think many people are still having an ashes hangover. South Africa will provide alot more of a battle for the aussies.

Announced on ABC- Warne was reported for dissent yesterday

Quoting Law 1.3

21st over yesterday- Warne appeal turned down

HAHAHAHA!!! Shane Warne deserves it and Brett Lee should as well.

Why can't a ball deflect off the pad. It appeared to me that the ball deflected off the pad onto the bat, then back onto the pad....

In any event, its tough to watch cricket like this after the excitment of the Ashes. Let's hope South Africa is a different story.

Oh ok, I didn't know you were talking about that deflection. Usually when you mention deflection its ball hitting bat then pad.

At least MacGill is on now. Lee was bowling 2 balls. Full or short.

They're putting up some fight, Ramdin and Bravo. Really, Bravo is the find of the series for WI.

Sadly the fight is over. Ramdin out. Nine is still working out how he got out. It seems like he played over the top of the ball and when the ball went up it clipped his glove and Gilly caught it.

2 tailenders left not good for Bravo and WI.

Bravo saying cya later to MacGill.

Bravo is going good. MacGill cannot bowl when the batsmen are in an aggressive mood. He was getting smashed.

Pontings captaincy has been average really.

Hence the reason he never got a good go in ODIs. People ask why he wasn't chosen there is the reason.

Aus and getting out the tail just never seems to happen.
Lee onto bowl, and new ball should follow soon.

And Lee gets a wicket first ball. Thats more like it!

Awww :( I was looking forward to see Lara bat. Great catch.

Now a shocking umpiring decision. THe umpiring this series has been very bad, especially from Billy :( hate to say it.

atleast bowden has been consistent. CONSISTENTLY BAD lol. his umpiring in the ashes, and now this series has been appalling. i don't know what is goin on in that man's mind, but it certainly isn't the line of the ball. poor ramnaresh sawan

Aus chasing only 182 have started off well. These small totals can be a problem for Aus. Hayden seems to have some fishing to do as he is going at a rate of knots. Hes also done some fishing outside off stump :p

Collymore gets Rox's man :)
Hopefully we don't collaspe and put pressure on our lower order.

Kodos theres another one you can add to the tally. Another poor decision by Dar. Huge edge that bounced of the keeper and then caught by another fielder. That would have been an awesome catch.

November 28th,3rd Test-Day 4

Story of the day-The Windies started the day with batsman Sarwan and nightwatchman Powell at the crease with the score at 69/2.The Australian's were hoping for a quick middle order collapse where as the Windies were looking for a solid start to the game.

The Aussie started off the day in style with Warne looking deadly and getting rid of Powell. In came Lara with the confidence of his first innings double ton and looked to emulate that performance. But the day just seemed to belong to Warne as he got Lara's key wicket for a personal score of 16.

Soon the collapse started as the Aussies led by Warne captured the wickets of Sarwan,Chanderpaul and Dwayne Smith with the Windies tottering at 106/7,it seemed now as though the match which went so perfectly well for the visitors till mid day-3 might end at day-4 with a loss to them,Stunning.

But right on queue came D.Bravo who has been having a wonderful series with both bat and ball,he seemed to play frelly hitting Warne and especially Macgill all over the park and seemed to make a mockery of the Aussie spin attack.Together with Ramdin who has had a decent series as well, the duo put on a 54 run partneship till Ramdin was dismissed by who else,Warne.Soon Bravo reached his half-century,the knock helping the Windies shy away from utter humiliation as the team total passed 200.

Soon however as the pressure of scoring and managing the tail at the other end took its toll as Bravo was dismissed for 64 by Lee.The Windies innings soon ending at 204 meaning the kangaroo's need a mere 182 runs for victory.

The Aussie's looked postive from the start, however it seemed that in this test no batsman who succeded in the first innings was going to repeat that performance.Langer was a perfect example as he departed for 20,giving the Windies hope beyond hope for a win.Ponting was Collymore's second victim as he departed for 3.At stumps the Aussies need 106 with a day to spare and eight wicket's in hand.

Possibilites at the end of Day-4

The day seemed to be a decisive one as the Aussie's seem to be coasting for a victory and a whitewash in the series.Only natural intervention which seems unlikely could stop this result from happening. The Aussies would have to make foolish mistakes and the Windies to bowl out of their skins to have any chances, but all seems bleak at the moment.

Performer's of the Day

West Indies

Once again it was Dwayne Bravo for the West Indies, this time with the bat,he seems to be only healthy player in the Windies team and seems to have an answer for every situation.

Australia

For Australia it was Shane Warne bagging six wickets in the innings and taking the lime-light over fellow spinner Stuart Macgill who thus far had bowled better than Warne according to most pundits. He keeped bowling his big leg-breakers with the occasional roman's and quicker deliveries and seemed in the mood and hungry for wickets.A truly proffesional and demolishing performance.

Hodge almost out twice. One of a drop catch and the 2nd one Hodge missed a yorker but it wasn't on the stumps.

Too bad i couldn't catch is as it is not on tv now.

was the drop catch a comfortable one or difficult??

It will cost the Windies too, Aus 3/72 looks way better than 2/72. You have both new guys at the crease and Collymore was bowling really well.
Thank god we have Hussey, he is ideal for these low run chases. The days of Aus choking with small run chases should be over with Hussey around. After him it doesn't look too good. Symonds very shakey, Warne and Lee hit and miss but they also can produce the goods if needed.

oh dear. i just went on to circinfo.com and after Sth Africa, Australia are going to bangladesh and then zimbabwe. how booooooring.

I hope Aus blood some youngsters against them. No point in playing our oldies just to boost their averages and get a new world record. We should think about the future. But yea that won't the audiences.
