Was it a good move to recall Irfan in the Indian squad?

Poor selection for the Test Match for West Indies.
K Brathwaite Need more time in Domestic Cricket and maybe he should head to England to play 1 - 2 years there, to gain some experience, since West Indies domestic Cricket is Very very poor.
In my view He always have a nervous start. He take ages to settle down.

K Powell same as Brathwaite.

K Edwards - Made his debut against India, in the west indies and scored 100.
Only problem is it seem he gets tired to quickly and play a stupid shot to get out.

A Barath -He gets injured to much.

L Simmons - not consistence enough in Test Match. Plus he is under alot of perssure, he keeps pairing with new players

Darren Bravo - was going through a Big patch, in not getting any run, Recently against Bangladesh in one Test he found some form HOPE he carry it into India.

S Chanderpaul - One word Class.

M Sameuls - Improving alot, but need to step up more and score bigger runs and stop looking for big shots, which he throw away his wicket.

D Ramdin - would love to see him back in the 11.

C Baugh - Improve alot in West Indies, but against Bangladesh he just vanish

D Sammy - Give one good performance, after alot of failers, yes he is the Captain of the team, so he have to stay in the test side, but He needs to improve alot, He needs to play his game as an agressive batsman and try to get runs on the board, since hsi bowling he may have a good econ rate, but no pace to scared any batsman.

R Rampal - Have been improving alot recently. Taking wickets

K Roach - is currently out of form.

F Edwards - have been improving since his return to the West Indies.

D Bishoo - Good bowler, but some time really flat.

S Shillingford - Perform well before, his recently return to West Indies.

So For my Team against India for the 1st Test, would be
The Batting Line up.
1. L Simmons
2. S Chanderpaul
3. D Bravo ( prefer him at this postilion)
4. K Edwards
5. M Samuels
6. D Ramdin (prefer him over Baugh in Test)
7. D Sammy
8. R Rampal
9. K Roach
10. F Edwards
11. D Bishoo

Leaving out Barath, Brathwaitee, Powell, S Shillingford for the first Test.
I would play my 3 fast bowlers with 1 spinner. With Sammy and Samuel as my 4th and 5th option.
and Have batting all to 6th .

I would still like to See K Pollard make his Test Debut to see what he have to offer in the Longest version of the game.
Currently i would Give Ramdin The Test Captain, So i could have, one of the following allrounder in my Game, K Pollard, C Brathwaite, Dwyane Bravo or A Russel, replacing Sammy.

well it is impossible to play this XI just because P Kumar is not in Test Squad. :p:lol.

Dhoni won't risk playing 2 Debutant Fast Bowler in a Test Match..

Oh sorry, I forgot that. Replace Kumar with Ishant. The rest of my team remains the same.

to get in test side he will need to make few more triple hundred.. Orissa is weak side too.

Yes, I know Orissa is a weak side but still 300 can't come just like that. And look how quickly he scored those runs. he is probably in the form of his life currently.
And again I didn't say he should be in test team, I said he is making his case stronger and a few good performance with bowl or 1 or 2 more centuries and I am pretty sure he will be in squad.

Yes he has scored his runs very quickly which is a worry sign.. In Test Matches You can't survive with playing too many shots.
As a batsman in Test matches, i never want to see him and i am sure selector will never pick him also as there are more 15-20 batsman better than him.

8 Hundreds were scored on First Day of Ranji Trophy and i am very happy Rohit Scored 175 against Railway which is a strong side.

If india can win first Two Test matches against WI, then i would like to see India Picking a Young Test Squad for Third Test..

Sehwag
Gambhir
Kohli
Rohit
Yuvraj
Pujara
Dhoni/Saha
Ashwin
Ishant
Varun
Umesh

Rohit Sharma is due for a test spot. I am frankly irritated that Yuvraj is being considered a favorite to take a spot in the XI tomorrow. He has been given many chances and he has consistently failed at the test level. At a time when people like Rahane, Rohit Sharma, etc deserve chances, this guy is being given so many chances. Just because they want a Ganguly/Dravid/Tendulkar type legend who is good at all formats.

Yuvraj will most likely be a failure in Australia again. He like MS Dhoni doesn't have a proper technique to play test cricket in tough conditions. I would be happy to be proved wrong, but I am not expecting it at all.

Oh for God's sake, why can't he deserve another chance? That guy was Man of the series in WC 2011. Selectors have only given him chance because he performed really well in WC with both ball and bat. If he fails here than he will be kicked out.

We have discussed many times on MS Dhoni and I don't want to start it again. I feel he is good enough to stay in the team right now and there is no one in domestic cricket who is good enough to take his spot. Don't give me that crap about Saha again because I saw him against South Africa and how brilliantly he batted against them.

The only 2 players I want to see in the test team are Badrinath and Rohit Sharma. I think Kohli still needs to spend some time in domestic and play longer format but Badrinath should come in his place.

What format of cricket was the World Cup again? I'm not sure, but since I'm not sure, let's also pick Yusuf Pathan because HE IS AWESOME AND HITS LOTS OF SIXERS!

Yuvraj Singh has played 35 test matches! 35! That's more than most players can hope to play and he's done absolutely nothing to prove that he's good enough for test matches in 54 test innings.

The Board Of Control For Cricket In India

Please Yuvi, do India a favor and fail miserably. Don't mislead us because we know you'd be eaten alive in Australia.

Yesssssss, India bowling first. Can watch Yadav bowl.

Ha ye your selectors quite clearly have been watching a different Yuvraj over the years in tests, which makes them keep giving him all these opportunities.

Still better than nothing.

The stat about the last 5 tests at Kotla was interesting. Pace bowlers average 45 or so and spinners about 33. Strike rate was also higher for pace bowlers.

Should he have held onto that? Perhaps.
