West Indies in India Nov 2011/12

Was it a good move to recall Irfan in the Indian squad?

Oh for God's sake, why can't he deserve another chance? That guy was Man of the series in WC 2011. Selectors have only given him chance because he performed really well in WC with both ball and bat. If he fails here than he will be kicked out.

We have discussed many times on MS Dhoni and I don't want to start it again. I feel he is good enough to stay in the team right now and there is no one in domestic cricket who is good enough to take his spot. Don't give me that crap about Saha again because I saw him against South Africa and how brilliantly he batted against them.

The only 2 players I want to see in the test team are Badrinath and Rohit Sharma. I think Kohli still needs to spend some time in domestic and play longer format but Badrinath should come in his place.

The World Cup was an ODI tournament where Yuvraj is a big ticket player. He is an excellent ODI player and I never doubted him in ODI's. Tests and ODI's are completely different. And also Yuvraj is not a guy I would want to play in conditions like Australia, England, South Africa, etc. I wouldn't want him anywhere near the team in such conditions. Same with MSD, but right now we dont have a replacement for MSD (we can build Saha who is ideal test material, but till Australia, we dont want to shake up MSD).

How many tests has Saha played? 1 test only till now. And he has only played 3 ODI's too. What did you see of him that you are trying to put him down?

Please Yuvi, do India a favor and fail miserably. Don't mislead us because we know you'd be eaten alive in Australia.

Yesssssss, India bowling first. Can watch Yadav bowl.

Yes, I agree. I am praying for Yuvraj to fail here so that the selectors see some sense and don't pick him for Australia (because if he is picked, he will be first choice due to his proximity with Dhoni and many seniors).

Really?? Thats great. They showed the India-England ODI's also for free. Good stuff! But I think the bigger ticket games in India will be sold for money.

India need to get Chanderpaul out as soon as possible tomorrow. Or else, we might face a stiff challenge. Bishoo can be a handful on this wicket. By the way, EXTRAORDINARY OVER RATE by India today!!! Can you believe it? We bowled one over extra today? Thats a miracle under MSD's captaincy!!!!:cheers:thumbs Good start to his career by Ashwin. Two highly important wickets (Darren Bravo and Marlon Samuels; both good batsmen). If Ojha and Ashwin can keep this up, I think they will make a great case for themselves for Australia. Harbhajan has gone wicketless against UP in yesterday's domestic match.

You'd have to worry if a team can't hit the over rate when bowling with 2 spinners all day haha

Well i dont think any teaM can't bowl full 90 overs out of which 57 were bowled by spinners. The over rate wasn't that match good in the first spell of Pacers.Generally it goes up when spinners comes.

Very well deserved five-for. While I was earlier arguing for Praveen's selection, if the selectors' idea was always to play Ojha then perhaps it's best not to select him. Both of them are defensive bowlers and so it would take a little longer to bowl sides out if both Ojha and PK were in the XI. I think Ojha would do well in Australia with Ishant, Zaheer & Aaron/Yadav alongside him. He would provide a quality economic option.

Ojha picks up a 5-fer. Good comeback from him to international cricket. With Ashwin as the second spinner, Ojha has been more attacking and has reaped rewards. Hope Harbhajan is kept out, and Ojha assumes lead spinner responsibility for a long time.

Waiting to watch Sehwag and Gambhir bat after a long time. Both home boys should be used to this wicket quite well. Hoping for a rollicking start! Chanders GONE!!!

I think that was going down leg but I'll take it.

Ojha has been more attacking this game. He has bowled a lot of flighted deliveries enticing the batsmen. I think Ashwin's presence has helped Ojha assume the senior spinner responsibility and he is bowling in a more attacking fashion.

Lovely little spell before lunch that from Edwards. He exposed both of Sehwag's technical woes againts at the body short pitched bowling and sharp in-swingers (given his minimal footwork), that the S Africans and English fast-bowlers did previously this year.

Too bad the Windies dont have a third genuine quick bowler to back up Edwards and Rampaul.

well he is coming from injury.. It will take time to get back in form..
he has scored 3 back to back hundred against SA in IND. (one is triple hundred).

Now in South Africa where teams where struggling to score 200, you expecting sehwag to score hundred.

SA opener were themselves not averaging more than 30 on that series. Sehwag Avg was 25.

BEST thing which i like about sehwag is that he wins TEST matches by himself on these Dead pitches.

Sehwag will like Mumbai or Kolkata pitch more as those pitches has good bounce.

^ he was just saying that Sehwaq has technical flaws. He scores yes but you can't deny his technique is not the best but still it works for him and let him play with it

thats what i am saying that his not in form..
When ball reverses it tails in, so he should not be getting big scores. But see he has 2 triple hundred or 6 double hundred or 15 150+ scores.

Yes he had that problem 4 years back when he was struggling against ball which used to tail in but he has work on it.

What i hate is that people start pointing out his technique flaws when he doesn;t get runs, instead of seeing that the guy has not played cricket from so many days.

Gambhir Gone... Bad luck but why keeping bat on right hand..

Sehwag Gone..

More than technical flaws his careless cricket gets him out..

2 lucky break for WI.

Missed those days of frenetic scoring at the top, and Sehwag-Gambhir provided just that today. But losing all three so soon might hurt us here. But since these are Indian conditions, I expect either or both of Yuvraj and Dhoni to come good here and take India past WI total and build a lead. Also, I feel Dravid/Tendulkar/Laxman should not come one after the other. We should have a different No.5 and then Laxman (or even Laxman can come after Dhoni, as he is a good steadier of the innings).

Edit: India are sliding big here!!!! Laxman too gone! Looks like the scars of England might be back to haunt us.
