Who Should be the next Indian coach

i think that Ravi Shastri could be next coach for india as BCCI want an Hindi speaking coach and good exprienced coach and ravi shastri is that one...

I would love that India has no coach rather having Ravi Shastri.

Team India head coach: Stuart Law and Jason Gillespie join the fray - The Hindu

I am not so sure how true is this. I can understand Stuart Law's name being thrown around since he has already mentioned it a couple of times before that he would like to coach Indian team. However, Jason Gillespie who has recently turned down Australia's bowling coach job and is well settled at Yorkshire has applied for the position sounds a bit doubtful.

In other Indian names, Venkatesh Prasad I heard is the latest to have applied for the job. Shastri is currently favourite to take the job which is a bit worrying but looks like he has backing of all the important people.

Media reports had suggested Jason Gillespie, Yorkshire's coach in the English county circuit, was one of the high-profile overseas names to have applied. But the former Australian fast bowler confirmed to ESPNcricinfo that he had not.

Also in that article MS Dhoni said he wants someone who understands the traditions and way of life in India and of Indians. Is he alluding to an all Indian coach?

They should rope in a foreigner for the bowling coach post if we want to improve our overseas bowling performances

Highly doubt overseas failures like Venkatesh Prasad etc. will make any difference to the team[DOUBLEPOST=1465838605][/DOUBLEPOST]Anil Kumble among applicants for India coach job | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

Could be a good choice, although has no experience

Also could be the key to bringing back India's spin glory

Ravi Shastri is a recipe for disaster. He's a loud mouthed person and someone who likes to be in the forefront or limelight, so to speak. Plus, he's already made a remark about MS Dhoni giving up the realms to Kohli. I would have imagined someone applying for such a high profile position would not make his opinion known so openly in the public and rather have a healthy discussion internally, first with the players and then the board. Personally, I like the make of Anil Kumble but he has no coaching background or experience. All the other names are also quite meh. I'm guessing the pay is fat, therefore so many applications. I would have gone after Tom Moody or Daniel Vettori if they were available and at the same time get Virat Kohli's trainer as team physio. If the team can do the work Kohli has done with his body even up to 65-70% it will be immense. I don't mind Sanjay Bangar and his assistant coaches in the support role.

I don't know - the team seemed to like Shastri when he was the "Director" - going by the various media bytes we got from them. Especially Virat.

But yeah, he does seem quite boorish and not someone like Kirsten who would stay in the background and work his magic

I think the key is finding a very competent Bowling coach who has a long term vision for our bowlers - pacers and spinners alike. Sick of seeing 'talented' bowlers breaking out onto the international scene and the fizzing out within 2-3 years

'Talented' lol.

India never been able to produce a world class fast bowler, you had one in Zaheer but injuries, mismanagement and dissent got the better of him. What is apparent now also is the lack of a quality spinner. So yeah agreed need a viable bowling coach, why not Curtly Ambrose?

Curtly Ambrose is not a good coach.
