Will Australia play tests in India this year (2010)?

We are going to get our asses smoked :facepalm

Can't see us winning a game, unless we get a seaming deck.

If it does go through then you have to give some credit to India. They attain the number 1 ranking and then invite the Sa and Aus to play to defend it. I like it.

Ha ye good stuff from the BCCI for once. But the funny thing is as much as India could win or draw series vs SA & AUS @ home. They are equally likely to lose in SA or AUS.

We do have a good spinner this time.

Hauritz would be murdered if Sehwag & Gambhir get hold on him.

If AUS are going to win in IND the pace quarter will have to do the buisness.

Throw away ODIs. 3 Test and 3 T20's will satisfy everyone.

Nah no T20s - just the 3 tests (if they could add the one more of course). This series is all about real cricket to decide the probable best team in world. No time for useless T20s..

No T-20 please! If we keep on playing twenty over cricket like this, then people will get disinterested in this format soon. You have the T-20 WC, IPL, and CL coming up. That's three T-20 tournaments back-to-back! You seriously want more?

T20s are there to make quick bucks for boards. You can only shorten 7 ODI series for 3 Test if you squeeze in T20 moolah.

You will not see T20 going away from international cricket and start living with it. Good thing is India still does not play enough T20s as compared to other countries.

You have raised a valid point in the first part of your post. But the number of T-20 matches being played these days is really giving me a headache! I don't have any problems with T-20 tournaments as long as they happen just once in a year and don't take up much space in the international calendar. In fact, I enjoy them quite a bit. But ATM, the scenario is horrible! You have three major T-20 tournaments happening one after another! If so many T-20s get played, then what will happen to the more serious forms of the game?

India and Australia should play Test matches only in the upcoming series, like what "War" said. The tour will be short and intriguing. We don't need any T-20s, we don't need any ODIs.

Not a bad idea at all. The T20's will give the boards the money, and will be less exerting for the players too in terms of game time.

I dont see a possibility of the BCCI completely giving up on ODI's or T20's for the tests. ODI's and T20's fill up Indian grounds very easily and the tests fill up only at the traditional test centres. If they go for three tests ONLY, they will lose lot of revenue and they will never take that route. They will have some shorter format in the tour to get enough revenue and also have tests for the rankings.

I'd at least like to see such a tour before writing it off as a failure. However, it's unlikely they'd do it because it doesn't count towards those precious ODI ratings.

i dont think Australia would accept though as it would be there last chance to tour India before the World Cup evan though im hopin they do play some tests
