Few more questions for you Ross:

1. Are we going to see few different type of batsman animations i.e. different batting style like dravid classic, Sachin authentic and like warner and gayle style??

2. How many bowling actions can we expect? these bowling and batting actions could be added on a yearly basis like FIFA.

3. I know you don't want to promise anythings, but can you give us a rough idea of when will be able to see a trailer for full cricket cricket game? how far is it? any more screenshots for full game???

4. Other thing that i would like to see is realistic running between the wicket, AC09 has so many runouts and IC10 did not have any...

5. How many stadiums would this game feature?

Thanks

Ross, its a bit offtopic. But are there any plans to bring cricket on PS Vita

My Vita has been lying around unused as there's not much to choose from. It would be great to have decent cricket on portable system on the go

We have two Vita games in development, alas none of them is Cricket. We may look at implementing the Cross play elements so you can use the Vita to remotely play the game on the PS3.

It's really hard to give specific numbers at this point, not that I don't know them, but because things change and I don't want people to think I've misled them.

The complete trailer will be ready by start of January, the release of it will be a marketing decision. There will be many screenshots along the way, their release will also be dictated by marketing. This may not be what people want to hear but I would like to be honest and hope people understand that in order for the game to be profitable and maintained for future versions that marketing and timing of release will be just as important as when the developement is finished.

Atleast an honest answer is given. I know things do keep changing but are we hopeful to see different animations atleast? :)

I understand ross and i bet most of the people on pc do also.
Its been a hard 2 or 3 years with nothing but let down after let down.

Now we have 2 cricket games coming in the same year and i'm over the
moon, like i said before i will buy both the day they are out.:D

So a trailer around start of jan that's cool, are you guys taking time off
for xmas or working right till the game is finished.

Release date well i understand, why would you release a cricket game
at the wrong time.

If i was the head of marketing for you guys then around ashes in aus.
Release at the same time as ashes 2013 would be good and bad.
As you said before licences get fans in but not always a better game.

Anyway good luck and look forward to seeing more in the near future
from bigang cricket and ashes 2013, maybe you and chief can have dinner
and talk about ideas to make both games better;)

Yeah but i understand that you had sent a WIP screenshot exclusively to pc. Are we going to see such perks in the future too? ;)
And i believe you are going to release it before the ashes, which on my opinion would be like releasing Avengers before the Dark Knight Rises.

Hi Ross,

Will your game have Autoplay options like EAC07 i.e. autoplay 1/5/10/15/20/50/100 or till end of Innings/session or fall of wicket ?
This option would be awesome as it has been in EA series games. I absolutely hated it when Cricket Revolution didn't have it, perhaps BLIC05 didn't have it also,
It was irritating & frustrating at the same time.

I'm asking because my preferable mode is off-line, single-player & sometime while playing limited 20-overs matches,
i like to autoplay to see how my team is doing at the end of 15 overs, be it bowling or batting.
While bowling it makes for an interesting phase trying to dry up the runs by bowling fuller length or slower ones or by trying to save boundary shots.
While batting, it makes exciting run chase in last 5-overs.
Or sometimes, I know the opposition main bowler is the spinner like Murali for SL or Vettori for NZ & he is likely to cause problems for me in middle overs,
so I autoplay till 10 overs(in T20) or till 20 overs(in 50 overs) mainly to tackle the slow bowlers with minimal damage.

Similarly, while playing 4/5-day matches, I autoplay for a session/innings...when batting 1st, sometimes I autoplay till end of 2nd innings
to see how the match is poised at the start of 3rd innings, trying to see how much & at what rate i need to score, which gives me high enough
total to defend in 4th Innings as well as leaves my bowlers enough time to get 10 opposition wickets.
Then i bowl a few overs with the new ball to see if i can get a few early wickets and autoplay for say 20/50 overs,
where my ball is old, pitch has roughened up & my spinner can come into play.
Or if my team is batting second, I simply autoplay till end of 3rd innings, only to chase in 4th innings.. it's quite thrilling experience for me.

Somedays you don't feel like batting all 20/50 overs.. someday you feel like batting whole allotted no. of overs,
while u only want to bowl in death overs with field deep spread out.. so I guess having the flexibility to Autoplay till various points in the match
is an important game-play component and adds to the longevity factor as well.

Hi Ross,

Firstly, thank you for the interaction, it's great to be able to have someone so heavily involved in designing a cricket game communicating directly with a community like this. And thank you for making this game! It already sounds fantastic.

Just a few questions:
1. Will you be able to play career mode/seasons with domestic sides? For instance a full domestic season (sheffield shield and ryobi cup in australia)?

2. In career mode, will you be able to manage/play as national sides and have a full selection pool of domestic-based players to select from? Will these players play their own domestic matches "in the background" and have players in good form knocking on the door for international selection? I think that'd be great, players like Phil Hughes or Steve Smith regaining form and pushing for international selection, or others like Alistair McDermott and Mitch Marsh emerging with runs/wickets in shield cricket to warrant a spot on tours.

3. Will the career mode also encompass world cups every 4 years and say every year/season normally having 2 away test series, 1-2 home test series and 1-2 ODI tours with warm up matches etc?

4. How will player attributes work? Cricket 07 had a considerable amount while Ashes 2009 only had about 4 or 5 per category. I'd like to see it somewhat like FIFA, in that there are mental attributes, physical attributes and technical attributes - particularly because mentality is so important in cricket. Things like aggression, patience, leadership, tactical knowledge, composure should be included, as well as focus on batting strengths - ratings for front and back foot, off side, leg side etc.

5. As mentioned by someone else I think, it'd be cool to see specialties that make a considerable difference and they earn them depending on their attribute ratings and combinations of attributes (again, like FIFA) - death bowler (Lee, Bracken), run-chase specialist (Hussey, Bevan), defensive wall (Dravid), slogger (Warner, Afridi), driver (Ponting, Watson), leader (Steve Waugh), bucket hands (Mark Waugh), line and length (McGrath, able to always hit a length), pace/speed (Akhtar, Lee), reverse swing (Steyn), bamboozler/tweaker (Warne, Murali), acrobat (Warner, Smith), bullet throw (Warner), strokemaker (a natural who has excellent timing e.g. Mark Waugh), all rounder (Flintoff), workhorse (can bowl long spells and/or bat all day i.e. great stamina e.g. Hussey, Cowan, Laxman) - I'm sure there are others that I haven't thought of too but they are just some ideas off the top of my head. Having these specialties will make it easier and more realistic when selecting a balanced team, and obviously players can have multiple specialties.

6. Something that I think all games have missed is difference in player heights and builds etc and how this impacts them i.e. taller bowlers getting more bounce, shorter batsmen being able to play off the back foot easier. I think this should be of high importance as it is something that makes a massive difference and will add much more realism to the game - and the career mode impacting with player ages is great too. Would love to see younger players getting technically and mentally better as they get older while older players slowly decline towards the end of their career, perhaps their technique etc remains the same but timing and composure decrease along with physical attributes?

They are just a few of what I've come up with, sorry if it's a bit overwhelming I'm a little excited haha. And sorry if I'm going over stuff people have already mentioned.

Here...its from the index of this thread.

7. Career mode, Would you be again similar to RL if it is so, then it would be amazing. ( Loving the grand final trailer for RL)

Our Cricket will have the same depth in terms of the career mode as RLL2 but not the same number of licenses. (RLL2 had 100+ licensed teams in it's career mode from u17's and up.) I am hoping that the player creator makes up for the lack of licenses, and the ability for people to share teams that they have created - any one elses team you meet online is automatically stored on your system for you to keep. We believe this will keep the game fresh and allow great longevity.

10. Is there like a touring countires to countries type of creeer mode as well as individual career mode?

More on the Career mode will follow. I should clear up early though that this is not a "be a pro mode"

13.Query is with regards to career mode. You said its not be a pro kind of career mode. Does it mean it has more to do with management that actual play in the field. Will we be playing as a coach in career mode?

You manage/coach (train, hire, fire) the team and also can play the games or simulate them.

14. Oh and assuming the career mode is gonna run deep, for years, would the player's attributes grow over the period too? As a player matures as he playes more...and some retire too. I guess the retirement is cross connected with the brand value, spectators etc? Like if its Sachin's last match, obviously more TV rating, spectators etc. and after he retires, there is gonna be less people coming into watch India play.
Is something sort of that going to feature in game?

Stat's change over time. Performance of the team is reasonably dominant for earning revenue, followed by star players, often you get both or neither at the same time, this is where retirement timing and player management come into the game. I don't want to give much more away on the Career mode side of things but it will be revealed in videos and screenshots prior to the game's release.

16. Any chance of created teams and competitions being able to be used in 'career mode'?

100% definite - biggest issue people have had with RLL2 has been that only licensed teams can be used in the Career mode, this will not be the case with Cricket (it is a design issue, not a technical one).

17. I know you can't disclose too much about it, but is career mode basically a season by season mode where you manage a team, play tours, friendlies, tournaments etc? Like will a fake version of the WC, T20, IPL and Champions Trophy been in the game?

That's pretty close to it.
